But they're not trying to clear out the rot and start again, they're trying to wind the clock back to the Ferguson era. The appointment of OGS and Phelan proves this.
What they need to do is bring in a manager whose style they like and build a team to his strengths regardless of how long it takes, much like Liverpool have done.

I guess my point is the rot is so bad that any manager will end up getting sacked within the next 12/18 months. Might as well do it on the cheap and have someone you can sack without too much grief.

As a tactical plan. Keep Ole this summer. Sell off Pogba, Martial, Sanchez, etc etc. Buy in some steady players / decent pros. Finish 7th. Sack Ole. Appoint new manager with a clean slate and money to spend.

That said what i expect them to do is get rid of the players as above at a big loss but splurge on the first big name player that gets touted by an agent even if they demand big money whilst having questionable commitment.

They are light years behind us on and more importantly, miles behind us off the pitch as well. To make matters worse for them they have fell a long long way behind Liverpool and Spurs who are setting themselves up for long term success.

Rags cannot complain regarding OGS, they wanted him as full time boss during the honeymoon period after getting want they wanted by getting rid of Moyes, LVG and Mourinho. They are clueless because they think hes gunna get them back winning the big trophies, can anyone really see him getting the better of Pep, Klopp and the others around him including teams getting better like Wolves and Everton? Imagine OGS out-thinking Pep on derby day?.....no i carnt either!

Old Trafford itself needs millions spending on it. Look at modern stadia such as ours, Spurs and Arsenal and OT just dont compare. The only thing going for it is its high capacity.

They are in a real mess; no CL which hits sponsorship and TV revenue streams and the possibility signing of top players, the Europa League which affects status and f**ks up your chances of any sustained league challenge because of the thursday night fixtures. Player apathy....did Pogba and Sanchez really sign up to play in that competition? Last game on sunday for them.
