Soriano building City's culture club

may be city should model ourselves like say Swansea, be happy with reasonable success, and keep fans in the game. make it sustainable but not at the price of normal fans.
Ok; rod dangler or rag ...

Meh...

So basically they'll market this club to the JCL's as being apart of Manchester, and focus on the culture/heritage in the area...so we'll have thousands flocking to the city every other week and a vast amount of people actually from the area won't even be in the ground, sat in a pub near the ground watching the game as we can't afford to get in.

But forget about it - it's still a proper mancunian club because Hatton and Gallaghers are rolled out in a video on youtube with their accents and they'll say so.

Be Part of it ;)

Miserable bastard!!

I bought a Blue membership - waste of a tenner I could have spent on own brand gin. I can't get a ticket on this, so am reduced to the scraps on the rip off Viagogo. Ah well, after a few years of admittedly self imposed exile on a small Goat-rearing island in the Atlantic perhaps I should have realised that a return to Cheshire wouldn't automatically get me access to the club I used to be able to stroll into of a match day. Just the beginning this, "Ever Blue" is the thin end of a wedge that will price most of hard working family blokes out of seeing City and taking our kids to watch a match.

Someone who isn't poor, accepts we have the third cheapest season tickets and still hasn't been to a game at The Etihad. You're describing a red there!! :)

Anyway at least these people who come to one off games will stop till the end unlike the locals who want to be home before the mach ends in time for Ant and Dec's Takeaway.

oops..anything but a rag :)
i didnt make it easier for myself by saying Swansea..I was talking about the self-sustainable model..of course city are a level or two above swansea and definitelyhave bigger ambitions..but as ambitions grow, there would definitely be a point where fans are priced out..so it is a choice..if I was the one to make it(of course i am not the one, i know !!), I would limit it at that point..focus on developing on our own talent, increasing stadium size..
Borussia dortmund would have been a better example :)

If we want to be a top club, then we have to enhance our global brand.
I stood on the Kippax for years. And before that, the scoreboard end at Maine Road when it was open.
Great times and memories.
But times change and the world moves on. We don't always like it. But if we don't bite the bullitt, then we're never going to be mentioned in the same breath as the Barcelona's and Madrid's of this world.
And surely that's what all Blues want. Isn't it ?

This says it all. I am also a 55er with great memories of that era, but we have moved on from the Trumanns Steel days. I would like nothing more than to turn back the clock to those days but since the takeover it was always going to be global development that would create sustainability. Hopefully, as the article would suggest, we will not sell our souls in the process.
