SOS NHS

They have starved the NHS of its resources, during the pandemic we are Heroes and after it we are zeroes the way they treat the NHS is a joke. Number 1 on everyone's manifesto when it's time to vote. After it they just do one as always.

I work in the NHS and I do help cover up and down the north-west when staff are short, but how much is peoples good will going to carry the burden of a broken system. It gets to a point when compassion fatigue starts kicking in with the staff and then they go off with sickness or denied annual leave due to staff shortages. Last 2 years pandemic or no pandemic it has shown what problems exist and what troubles lie ahead.

And don't ever forget how many incompetent middle and senior managers there are in the NHS, it's still administratively backward and the old mantra of ' we've always done it this way' holds sway, the Government are clueless to put it mildly. It's in a bit of pickle sadly.

I'm waiting for surgery on a malignant tumour. its just been delayed again. Making generalisations on the NHS is a minefield . Patients can really only comment on their individual snapshots of experience. My recent experiences show that once you get to the clinical care point its amazing but that road is littered with obvious inefficiencies,
At an x ray appointment the nurse called out 20 names of patients who were not there. Clear waste of scarce resources by us the public.
At an outpatient clinic in the past weeks I waited 2 hours beyond my appointed time on both occasions. There were only 2-3 patients waiting but over that 2 hours I saw up to 4 nursing staff ,one cleaner and 2 receptionists just hanging around the desk for 2 hours tittle tattling about their excessive workload and staring at the clock. Organisation of the NHS resources is a huge and unfathomable challenge.

You'll find that all the patients were given an appointment for the same time.

When I attended A & E once with suspected concussion I was asked to complete a form with the instructions .... Fill in your name

Last name first ,First name last and your middle initial at the end.

As you can imagine I was lucky to get out alive.

My mum is going through treatment and says the exact same thing. The nurses, doctors and clinical staff are often great but the administration is a complete joke. No two computer systems talk to each other let alone the staff. It's ridiculous the amount of times they've not sent results or things have just been lost or forgotten about.

The best one is during her diagnosis she had an ECG at the hospital and because the results were bad they told her to go to A&E. So they wheeled her over to A&E but when she got there they had no idea who she was. She had to go through triage and then they didn't have her ECG results so she had to sit there for hours to wait for them to do another one.

It turns out the heart thing was minor but still it'd take 20 minutes for a heart doctor in A&E to look at an ECG and tell her it's minor. However, because the administration and communication is so bad she had to wait 2-3hrs and go through whatever they do for a possible heart attack diagnosis where the original ECG would of shown it was not the case.

It has echoes of Raab and "people using foodbanks are just having cashflow issues " doesn't it?
it's how they normalise this.
Some of this lot are good actors....smiling like they're talking about a trip to a fun park.

At least Raab wasn't smiling and it at least appeared he a mild modicum of sincerity when he mentioned that...not to say it's anything but utterly cuntish behaviour.
