Just had lobster soup, not bad, but not my favourite.
My mum's spinach and watercress is the best!

lobster?! why is that so expensive? i can imagine it tastes like crab!

Lobsters grow slowly and are pretty uneconomical to grow commercially, plus they've been overfished, especially locally, so fairly few are caught - expensive, and extra are imported - expensive.

Spicy bean soup!

Fry up a load of bacon, garlic, and onions. Make up some stock, whatever kind you like, add a tin of tomatoes and a tin or 2 of kidney beans in chilli sauce and some chopped potatoes and simmer away till it thickens up and the potato cooks (can add whatever else you like, carrots, lentils, peppers whatever), then season and spice it up with whatever you like, tabasco, cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper etc

Probably best for winter though, so it's a bit late.

You can't go wrong with soup, just keep adding stuff until it tastes good.

Against the rules - legumes not allowed in soup.

Just not - rules are there for a reason.

French Onion Soup is my fav. However I do make a mean Roasted Butternut Squash soup or Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup.

Is pea and ham not allowed either?

This rule will ruin my life.
