South Stand level 1 refurbishment

Didn’t get in the SS but I walked through the new Kit Bar on level 2 east stand, looked really good but was rammed don’t think I’d pay extra just to stand in a fancy bar.

I didn’t notice any difference at all on the concourse in South Stand. Asahi was nice though

The refurbished bars look great. Have to say I'm pretty gutted they've taken down some of the historic pictures outside the ground. St Mark's, Dennis Tueart overhead kick etc.

I always thought it was a really nice touch that those images were proudly on display. Don't get me wrong, the new images look smart, but would have preferred it if they'd just reprinted the old ones if they needed a refresh.

They've ballsed up East stand level 2 block 242 round....as you walk onto the concourse off the spiral there's a small bar and then another small food stall next door both with queues blocking the route through to the bigger bar further round the concourse, most ridiculous planning I've seen in my life but must say I'm not surprised really, so we've lost a decent sized bar to corporate! Certainly not added to my "match day experience"

I was disappointed in this refurbishment… it said in the email it stretched to 125 and the illustration looked good. Well it didn’t stretch to 125 and there was no seating in our end! Hey ho, I hope you enjoyed it. :-)


I got my meat and potato pie and to see John Boy get on the pitch so I’m in heaven…..plus we WON and that Trafford lot lost.. oh how I laughed.

It was accessible from 115 to 125.

I see what you mean but the illustrations/photos gave the impression that there were sort of chatting areas etc. But I don’t really mind. As I said I’m easily satisfied….John Boy and Meat and Potato pie plus a 4-0 win. What more do I need?





A body that doesn’t let me down making me have to leave early for the first time in at least 20 yrs!! How people do that every week I just don’t know. It’s a horrible feeling. :-)

So SS1 bar looks like the bar in EL2 that now costs extra, and the rest of EL2 has lost some of its bars and is cramped and crowded.

The last time they gave the south stand level 1 a makeover I went arse over tit on that sky blue ice rink floor and ended up in Salford Royal with bleeding on the brain. This looks impressive but not sure how it will cope when the crowds pile in.

That floor was a death trap. Two part epoxy with no polymer grip to stop slips and falls. It was an accident waiting to happen. I genuinely hope you sued whoever put it down and got a big payout.

i'm in 119 and it looked exactly the same as it did last year ? is this new bar area in a different section? , the only change i saw was the new branding behind the existing bar areas. talks of new seating area's and even a DJ booths no where to be seen.

At times I drifted between thinking I was at a football match or on a very hot and sunny night out. This may have had something to do with the 7 alcoholic drinks taken before the game though.

It is closer to 115/116 around the corner - looked full around 2pm so didn't bother.

At least they were showing the 1230 game on all the tellys.

I’m in 242 as well, they’ve made a right mess of it. Putting a small bar on that corner, resulting in the queues blocking everyone walking past, is madness.

Yes, they really have messed up the 2nd tier East/North Stand corner concourse. They have taken yet more space for the new Kits Bar hospitality and shoved the masses into a now overcrowded and under serviced, dangerous place. It was virtually impossible to get through the crowds to the stairwells and toilets and took forever to get served at the bar. They are certainly going to have to sort something out as it can't continue as it is.
