South Stand level 1 refurbishment

I had to hold the coach up for half an hour after the game when a friend went to pick up a bag that was marginally over A4 (and virtually empty). The queue was enormous.

Maybe she shouldn’t have brought the bag but the visitor wanted to take souvenirs back to Norway.

Like you say, I’m sure lots of effort is going into improving things (and we are lucky see the best team in the World). I even benefitted from a bit of chaos yesterday getting 2 lagers for the price of one.

Why didn't she leave it on the coach?

Football fans are still treated like potential thugs with all the rules, regulations and hoops we have to jump through to get in a game.

She went direct to Manchester mate and then came back on the coach to Leeds. She’s flying back to Norway tomorrow.

Leaning the bag on the coach would have been a solution but they were fitting a trip to the Science and Industry Museum as well as a couple pints in the Marble Arch. They only got to the ground on kick off time.

Ahh okay.

You must have been near 241/2, they were doing that there, but it took about 15 minutes to serve the a guy in fron to me despite him having already paid!

To be fair though, City will be guided by the authorities on what size bags can be brought into the ground, for obvious reasons unfortunately.

Any good?? Always swerve the food around the ground.

Came back to Alti for taco’s @ Chilli Tortilla.
Yeah mate, I get the pork burrito, salsa, cheese, sour cream, habanero sauce.

It’s genuinely a highlight of going to city.

On the other side I took my dad aged 77 whos not very mobile, from sorting out disabled parking by the Access team, to the little bus to get him up Mercer way, making sure he got the lift upto level 2 and seeing us through the Kit Bar I can’t fault City. I’ve been on the other end when they’ve got it wrong as well and rightly criticised them, but this time they did good.

so what exactly did you get and how much was it, if you don’t mind me asking and did it include your ticket?
Well, to be honest, took a wrong turn and ended up in there, shouldn't have been in. Looking on hospitality most games 120 couple at 150 but Liverpool and Rags is 400. Only includes soft drinks car park and your seat. Food and drink has to be paid for.

By the time I got into M2 it was too rammed to fully see what they've done, I'm not a fan of walking through the turnstiles and immediately finding yourself infront of a bunch of tables and unintentionally part of a queue. Preferred the open space and the opportunity to scope out the place for mates you might be meeting over shuffling your way through the crowd you're immediately part of, I appreciate city doing what they can though and It was rammed so probably deemed a success overall. They need to ensure the music from the DJ booth isn't blasting out during the match though, that was just odd.

Yes, they really have messed up the 2nd tier East/North Stand corner concourse. They have taken yet more space for the new Kits Bar hospitality and shoved the masses into a now overcrowded and under serviced, dangerous place. It was virtually impossible to get through the crowds to the stairwells and toilets and took forever to get served at the bar. They are certainly going to have to sort something out as it can't continue as it is.
This is spot on. Wife also not happy with a 20 stall ladies toilet being replaced with one of 5 stalls. Impossible to get to other larger ladies toilets due to huge queues at bar. The corner concourse is a disgrace, we should have a reduction in ticket price.

Where is this mythical refurbishment they speak of? I entered at entrance P on Saturday and it was identical to last season.

If the club are serious about supporter improvements then they should dispatch club representatives to all blocks in all stands and ask them to head to the nearest bar at half time and try and get a pint. Would love to be at the meeting on the following Monday morning.
