South Stand - Villareal

I don't get this concept. At Maine road the boyz were always in the kippax and platt lane near the away fans for banter ect. Then when the new platt lane stand was opened away fans were moved to the north stand so our boyz and singers followed them. When we moved to coms the ppl in the north stand at Maine road were put in the north stand at coms. Atmosphere was terrible at first till we re- grouped at ever side of the away fans. The atmosphere is ok now. If we move the away fans then the atmosphere will be shit where we are now, and we will follow the away fans, our end will then be the 2nd tier bellow the away fans, assuming they are in in the top tier.
The problem with the atmosphere is our ageing fan base.
Ctwd....
I agree with the stuff about the home vocal support naturally moving to near the away fans but it's not that easy these days is it. i mean it's not like Mane Road where you coudl go and stand where you liked. For me this game is a bit of a one off and worth trying but it would be better to move the away fans to just round the corner.

And sorry but don't agree with the ageing fan base. I stood on the Kippax 30 yeas ago and I'd still rather stand now and be part of a better atmosphere. Plenty of younger ones seem to prefer to sit down, it's all been about the conditioning imposed by all seater stadiums.

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

As soon as they were available to me, I got some tickets in 115 (usually try and get in 109 or 110 for the atmosphere). Can't say I've looked again since to see what the sales are like but I hope it does fill up; otherwise, as others have said, the club may decide it's a failed experiment.

Regardless of the outcome, hopefully they'll do it again for the Bayern match...

i dout they will do it for the bayern match as bayern will bring a lot of fans cos the only reason they are doing this now is cos villareal arent bringing many

Villareal are bringing around 400 - 700 fans that's why they are trying it. Bayern will sell there allocation out and won't be up in the gods like we was at the allainz!

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

Hope this works, they better all stand up & sing there hearts out. Not sit down & do fuck all like when we played Wigan that time.

It will be absolutely nothing like this. Please don't expect it to be because you'll all be disappointed. It will be a bit better than it was against Wigan in the Prem a few years ago but will still be full of infrequent/irregular attenders, families and day trippers but with more noisy fans than there were against Wigan. But don't start expecting much. Things like that take a while to build, ours is a one-off.

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

Atmosphere away in europe is always better because of the simple fact there is standing and all togeather. We need to take a leaf out of there book to get te atmosphere pumping.
