South Stand - Villareal

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

This move will be a disaster, I cannot believe people think that by having City fans in the south stand will improve the atmosphere within the Etihad. After 30+ years watching footy the one thing above your team’s performance is the interaction with away support (or home if away) without this it will die.
The best nights are European games, this is where it gets electric, we don't know the fans coming and i look forward to their vocals, colour and strange moves. If Poznan were all put up on level 3 would we really be doing the City Poznan today?? Napoli fans were brilliant as well, even though Villarreal are only bringing a small number, they will give it all behind the goal, more than the City fans moving there from Level 3.
Everton the other week, what funny banter with one or two of their fans, would we of witnessed and enjoyed that??
Whoever is behind this move then you are well off the mark, there are many sides now that have moved away fans up and away from the pitch, Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle etc. yes the home crowd can be loud when their team is playing really well, but it can also be awfully quiet when they’re not.
Get real blues or we could be sat in a very very quiet stadium….

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

Has anyone actually stopped to think that the take up may not be great because people aren't bothered and don't want to sit behind the goal when they can sit along the touchlines and get a better view? Not everyone wants to stand? Not everyone wants to sing? There seems to be some sort of theory that 'everyone' wants this to happen-already on here it's the same few pleading for more people to sit in the south stand so maybe the so called majority who wanted this aren't that much in touch with what the fans want, afterall it's not exactly a 50 page thread with lots of individuals up in arms about it like it was when it was originally discussed is it?

I will be sat in 211 as usual, that will be my choice. If it wasn't I certainly wouldn't have people trying to railroad me into sitting somewhere I don't want to sit. If the south stand doesn't fill up for this game it will be embarrassing as this was meant to be what all the fans wanted, apparently.

What exactly made this an 'operation' anyway?!?! Hardly a military coup!

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

It would seem the effort to get this off the ground isn't as popular as a lot of fans thought it may be.
One of the main reasons behind most ideas being a struggle are, that supporters come on here with ideas that never really get taken up, at the moment we have the 'banner' idea for Mancini, when you look at how many people have shown an interest and then at the last count I think it was in the region of £60+ raised, that won't buy you a lot of flag/banner. People on here come up with some great ideas but never see them through, the ones we have done have made for good day at the ground but to be honest we are not in the same league as say Liverpool for arranging flags and banners etc which is a shame really.
I remember a long while ago someone on here saying if and when they extend the ground to make one end with one steep bank of 15/18k seats, well if we can't fill 6500 for a 'kop' type backing there wouldn't be much reason to have a huge area.
I take my hat off to those who are at least trying something different and 3 of us have made the move so will have our backing.
Lets hope it works if not we can put it to bed as they say.

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

the club needs to publish this on its website, with every ticket bought, at the villa game, on it's facebook etc. etc. it also needs to make it really easy for people to relocate. at the moment noones got a clue whats going on.

in other news, the BA is getting a loud, proud, loyal banner for the game to go behind the goal. hoping to have it all sorted this week, but still need your help regarding donations (no matter how small) to help make it happen. you can donate via paypal to thebluealliance@hotmail.co.uk. below is the design

Re: Operation One End - Villareal

The main problem here is the fact that people believe that the views of a few people on bluemoon represent the feelings of a majority of city fans its a mistake often made on threads , i am just surprised the club have made the same assumtion.
