Southampton (A) Post Match Thread

Love that guy i really hope he can stay fit the club needs him he's an ambassador of the club our skipper love the guy

Keeper touch the ball , but didnt do enough to put the ball out of Sane's reach , he then took Sanes's trailing leg which prevented him from retrieving the ball , penalty all day long , only a fisherman with a big basket of bait would think otherwise.

the keeper gets a touch on the ball...small touch but he deflects the ball.....no penalty
I don't think it was a clear penalty, so wouldn't criticise the referee for this. But touching the ball by a goalkeeper or defender does not preclude the eventuality that a foul was also committed.

What!? Do you live in a world where everything that's not a penalty is a dive? Because the rest of us don't. He didn't appeal for a penalty when he went down, no referee in this country will book him for that.

Just because it's not a penalty, doesn't mean it's a dive.
I've got a friend who always says this. "If you're not going to give a penalty, then you have to book him for diving." He doesn't seem to realise that it's possible to do a clean tackle and still trip the player up, like......say, every sliding tackle ever.

Love how people are still arguing this even though Sane himself said it wasn't a penalty.

no but getting there before the player does and touching the ball....it was a great save nothing more. Even Sane said it wasn't a penalty.....

There was certainly something wistful about his comments. Hopefully just regret tgat he's missed so many games.

As far as the match was concerned, that second goal is etched on my memory above the other 89 minutes. Gorgeous, sublime football.
Can you please explain to @Karen and @Pablo1. They believe I'm just an emotionless fan for hearing emotion :)

Anyone remember Southampton away last season under Pellers? Absolutely embarrassing. Today we ripped them apart and played them off there own pitch. Pep will make us great I have no doubts at all, give him time
