Southampton (A) - Post Match Thread

Just one of those days where straight from the start you can see it's not going to be your day. When their rightback who's never scored before decides to take it in his stride and outside of hte foot it into the far corner, you know it's one of them. You know you're going to miss some sitters, you know nothing will bounce your way and you know the referee is going to see it as an opportunity to get what his paymasters want.

Not sure we should ever see that front three together again though, they just don't work together. Not enough drive or directness from any of them, all could have been subbed off and had no complaints.

Need to bounce back, we were never going to win every game until the end of the season so that should be the kick up the arse we need.

Doesn’t matter what percentage Southampton put in, we just have to match it at all times. Foden didn’t and that’s why we haven’t won, ultimately.
He was marshalled very well by Walker-Peters and so too on the other side, so they were forcing us to play through the middle. Our goal came from a set piece header and other chances from central shots outside the box and one other header. Not much action through the centre. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Liverpool will have a tough game tomorrow.

If you think raz has not cost us points tonight then good on you. He needs to move on. He’s not the future of city & way to inconsistent

Im no fan of Sterling and he does cost us points, but he’s just won player of the month. Jesus hit the post from 5 yards, shit happens. Suggesting selling some players after a draw away at Southampton in a game we dominated is very over the top.

If you don’t take easy chances and he. You don’t deserve to Win. Totally different team when Jesus came on .

I thought the whole team looked disjointed and sluggish.
Don’t know why. We’ve had a decent rest.

We had ample opportunity to win that, but scarcely deserved it despite our statistical superiority. Just took to long to get a pass in, a shot in, a tackle in at times.

That’s really not a good result to be honest. Loads of the ball but hardly any clear cut chances and against a team bang out of form (wolves were better than them) it’s a real punch in the gut to not beat these.
Not sure I agree with that, they gave us a good game, we responded well and could have nicked it, we are still well ahead in the table, so I don’t think you should feel so disappointed.

Zero time added on to the 6 minutes despite an injury hold up in added on time. Bent cunts

12 Premier league wins on the bounce. We were always going to drop points at some points. Even on an off night we dominated the game. It is very rare that a title race is over in January so Liverpool winning tomorrow doesn’t alter much. We have a manager who knows how to win the league so we can enjoy our 2 week break till our next game.
