Southampton (A) - Post Match Thread

Don't know what some of you lot expect. We all say at the start of the season, "Let's just get in a good position to have a go at the league by March". We're well on track to do that.

Could agree more, the problem with a long winning run is the pressure builds, by resetting with a game like this we can start again with less pressure, oh and the little bit of hope it gives the dippers will only serve to hurt them more when we pull it away!

Sterling has always missed plenty of these sort of chances.
He will continue to do so,as well as scoring plenty of them too.

Frustrating player at times,so he's always going to attract criticism,warranted or not.

The first 32 minutes, it was a shit show. They were pressing our front middle two like crazy, we were not going wide, we definitely didn't try to get behind, we were doing a lot of short futile passes like totally dazed and confused, Jack was coming back inside and it was complete quagmire in MF. We didn't try to double up on the wings, both KdB and Foden particularly ineffective when playing in between line with their back to the goal. It all changed when Pep realigned them in 2HT, but once we start chasing games and there is no individual quality, we start creaking on the seams. I am just pissed off with this established pattern how we end up conceding idiotic goals and than almost falling apart.

Grealish is here about 6 months, He didn't ask to be bought for £100m...Give the chap a chance to fid his feet in this system under Pep. It normally takes a season or so for players to settle so give Jack time you whining gits.

Same the same courtesy can’t be given to Raz given everything he’s give us since he joined.
 
Just listened to Pep in his post-match interview. Bizarre..to say the least!!!
I think we now know who was out on the lash with Raz and Jack….
