Southampton (A) - Post Match Thread

They had a goal disallowed that went to VAR.
it was blatantly offside. The ones that went for them were one red card with studds on thigh, plus another to Grealishs ankle foot. The foul on KDB was 100% on the line so that was a pen if it was a foul. But the ref gave none of those decisions in our favour so VAR stuck with his decision. Compare that with united last week when they looked for nearly four minutes to find something to rule out a villa goal. Ans today didntbreally check that cavani was off side. No one is going to convince me that the powers that be want utd in the top 4 and a close title race.

My first away game since that 2019 defeat at Newcastle, clearly I'm bad luck as everyone round me expects City to win every game 5-0 these days.

Really enjoyed it, should have won, had them on the rack on 70 minutes but those lengthy VAR (hate it) delays took the wind out of us a bit. I remember the 3-1 defeat there in their first season up and we've come a long way since then.

That Salisu had a superb game, but they all put in a shift. Thought our fans were great.
Even the 20 or so fighting with stewards & police fucking shocking behaviour lock them all up & ban them, probably all coked up young wannabes

lets hope Palace who raised their game and did very well at the Etihad few months ago tomorrow will raise their game and give hell of a game to Klopp.
having said that I expect Palace-Pool to finish 0-3 without Mane, Salah lol.
VAR will see to that....

We've played far worse than that this season and won comfortably, a lot of our general play was fine but simply not good enough from our front 3, they've cost us that. Sterling abysmal, all his worst qualities on display today, should have been hooked a lot sooner, Jesus at least was threatening when he came on. Foden was dangerous at times when he got on it, by far the most dangerous of our attackers but wasn't on it enough. Grealish was just there, the same as I would do with anybody else playing false 9, I give him some slack because that position doesn't favour anybody but we're still waiting for him to win us a game, never looked like doing anything.

Those wanting to blame var, are looking in the wrong places, all calls were correct.

That's not a point rescued, that's 2 big dropped points. Assume Liverpool win their games in hand, (Leeds and Palace) the gap is down to 6 then, it's 1 loss away from potentially putting it in their hands with us still to play each other. It's a poor result at exactly the wrong time, that's going to reinvigorate the scousers. Week off should re-energise, I expect us to start ruthlessly putting teams to the sword when we're back in action in response to that.
