Phil, i am honest guy and i dont like to dive

Good boy
It's a team sport Kaz. If we don't win the game that could have been a costly error by Phil. He wouldn't have been diving if he'd stayed down and would probably have got the penalty. Sad state of affairs but thats just the way it is.

very good lesson tonight in we can not take the officials or VAR to be fair for both clubs

clearly dodgy doings tonight and city of old would have lost the plot and get a couple of players sent off and the manager sat in the stand. first the southampton pen was a joke and if that's a pen then we should have 3 or 4 every game. second how on earth is the foden pen shout not given and the keeper sent off

southampton played utd the other week and VAR and the officials give utd everything even sending off pens offside goals handballs and a 9.0 win ? tonight southampton should have been down to 10 men and nobody could have moaned clear foul on foden and pen game over
Don't think the Keeper would have been sent off if the penalty had been given. Genuine attempt to play the ball.

From BBC

"For all Man City's success and wealth (just look at that squad!) their club lacks the most important thing, a soul. People may laugh but the reason other clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal amongst others come through hardships is because of a real fan base that helps to push the club on coupled with genuine principles that these clubs live by. Money is part of the modern game but aside from this what do City have? A belief in the academy? Loyalty from players? Or fans? I don't think so. Would Pep stick around if they were still at Maine Road without the wealth? They can't even fill their own stadium at the best if times. Yes they'll win the league but they won't win the hearts of football fans."
Alex, Yatton

1. Of course the bbc post this on the match feed.
2.We should start a collection for Alex so he can buy some books, get some internets and realise History started a lot fucking earlier than 2008. FUCKING MARDY ARSE ****.
I wonder who Alex from Yatton supports? My guess it's not one of the Bristol clubs.

Great Win. How the hell did the Foden Penalty not get called out. That would have also results in a red card I believe or maybe a yellow. Not sure.

I think they decided better not award the penalty to avoid the red card??? So if you play honest you get nothing and if you don't play honest you also get nothing! Typical City for us!

Very shaky start. The players were still not over the Derby loss but eventually they got back into it. We need to ride on this momentum and beat Fullam now.

I am only dreading the International Break, they should scrap it all together. I hope Pep bans the players from traveling

Mahrez MOTM, I really hope he stays in this form!

well, that was a really good contest, a game of football that got my bloody pumping and was well fought.

first credit to us, i said pre-match that the most important thing to do after losing is just to win, and we did with some sprinkling of panache. 5 goals and loads of entertainment. However, i get this feeling that 2 months ago any eleven would play, more or less, in a similar way where as now there are a clear strongest 12 or 13 players. Fernandinho is looking brittle the last month and even more so when Kev plays. The amount of times against WHU, Scum and Soton that passes have simply bypassed the midfield and allowed the opposition into the final 3rd has increased markedly.

Second credit to Soton who made a right go of it, passed really well and attacked throughout. They cant defend for shit. It's all well the victor saying "oh well done you attacked, never mind you shipped 5 eh!" as i'm sure a lot of their fans would have preferred a point but with a good defense surely their strategy puts them in the top half at least?

Moss. ohhhh Jonny Moss. What have you done.

It's unrealistic to expect VAR to get everything right but every other game has a talking point. It's failed no question and we don't need any more time to finesse it.

I am sure in years to come we will have technology that works but at the moment VAR is not working. A shame that a wonderful performance by Riyadh has been overshadowed by VAR again.
VAR doesn’t work because it’s the same inept fuckwits in the studio who are also the reffing on other match days making the mistakes

it’s totally flawed

that was a tough first half hour, the best any team against us this season by a long shot, fair do's southampton for the bollocks to go toe to toe with us
it wasn't until the blatant cheating from the ref that got us going
kudos to riyhad devestating in that last 10 mins of the first half and killed the game
second half it was a case of how many

We were very sloppy towards the end of that game. At one point Ederson pinged a pass out to Mendy, who wasn't ready for it, wasn't even on the pitch! Southampton throw, we turn over possession too easily and they have a chance to get at us in the final 3rd. Our concentration dropped around the 80min mark defensively speaking, yeah we were 5-2 up but things like that get noticed by other coaches. I'll end on a positive and that was the conversion rate from our on-target shots - 10 of those and 5 goals. Hoorah!
