Southampton post match thread

Pellegrini doesn't give a shit about the top 4 really. He won't be here next season. And what are they going to do? Sack him? He knows he's untouchable. You can't threaten a man with nothing to lose. Players won't be interested in anything he says because they know they don't have to impress him and he won't be here.

So he has prioritised Madrid as that's the only thing he has any interest in.

Saying that, those players knew they just needed to get a point to maintain the distance and they let everyone down (bar a few notables).

If we lost under mancini it was rare and even then by 1 goal. To ship 4 goals would have been unprecedented. Out defense is shocking.

Your spot on with the notion that the players can down tools under Pellers, but surely, professional pride and wanting to impress either pep or any other future manager should kick in

Ok. So if we have a view that things have to massively improve so we give it our best shot against the arse, what would you do different to that shambles of a performance today? Drop Kolarov, Bony (down a deep well), Delph, Sterling, where to stop....?

Pellegrini MOTM for Southampton.

Fuming is not the word that was an absolute shambles.

Nacho only player who didn't deserve to be on losing side. Always been a Pellegrini fan but I'm starting to really hate the guy. He won the lottery when he got this City job. What the @@@@ were those subs? Southampton causing us problems with pace through midfield so to fix it he takes off Fernandinho for Demichelis haha then he takes the only other DM off for a Winger.

We'll still make the top 4 I'm in no doubt but a bit of confidence needed to go into the Madrid game with was ripped away because of Pellegrini.

Hart - 6 nothing he could do.

Zaba - 6 gutted to say but he's done at City
Otamendi - 5 few decents tackles but that's it.
Mangala - 5 as above.
Kolarov - 1 absolute shite

Nasri - 6 no help
Fernandinho - 5 head was else where
Delph - 5 gave ball away to much
Sterling - 1 utter shit.

Bony - 6 Imo 1 of City's better players today had no service from Midfield.
Kelichi - 10 CLASS CLASS AND MORE CLASS.

Please tell me that your being sarcastic or you are that assholed that you are mistyping and actually mean hes the biggest disgrace to the city shirt in the clubs history?

Saw this result coming as soon as the Champions league draw came out. It's sad to see Pablo finishing his City career like this, Delph, Sterling & Bony have been major disappointments, Kolarov is stealing a living, Fernandinho was in a strop because other players were rested & the centre halves looked like sunday league players. The manager has been shocking all season, poor team selections and unmotivated players . Thank heavens for Kelechi. a big clearout required and a change in attitude of the whole squad.

Sterling may have ability but he is a bottleless little twat. Shit house of a player not far off the levels of cowardice exhibited by bony and kolarov. Fuck off with the pellegrini send off thread as well please the man is a joke. I hope he does get another job in the premier league it will be a very easy 6 pts for us.

He wants a send off alright and it has four letters. To think this joker replaced Mancini

If I was writing a University thesis on good and bad decisions by management boards, I'd say allowing Pellegrini to stay on knowing he was effectively sacked, would go down as a classic example of bad management practice and a clear warning of what NOT to do as a board.

He should have been sacked and replaced with an interim months ago.

The scary thing is, how many of the numerous players people are saying need to be gone in the summer are out of contract? I can't see too many clubs cueing up to spend big money on transfers and the inevitable huge wages of the majority of that side today? Getting rid of them might not be as easy as just saying it.

It has more depth than it did since that uselesd old **** has given Iheanacho more time.

I wonder how many more he's missed.

Seriously, take the first team out (inc Nacho) and tbh, we don't have a lot left. Several are past there sell by date and others are just not a good fit. It will be interesting watching the transfer thread in the off season

That's been overlooked Karen, we've been fucking hammered in games , beaten easily and tactically embarrassed .

I can't stand the **** , a charlatan of the highest order, employed by a guy banking on his old mate to pull him out of the shit.

Tkixi is equally to blame.
He is, I think he's more to blame than MP because he's provided MP with a shit set of players. Yes Mp should've done better regardless but I think we can all agree it's the worst squad we've had for quite a few years. Don't understand how people who apparently know so much about the game can get it this horribly wrong.

De Bruyne is the only player we've bought in the last 3 years who can play a pass and be comfortable on the ball. We now have a team of footballers who can't play football.
Quite astonishing given that Txiki worked previously at Barca.... our scouting network really needs some sackings.

I said last week that we should only play today players who will be here next season and who would fight for their places.

Picking and playing someone like DeMichelis and Bony - who nobody this side of pluto believes will be here next season - is what was wrong.

I was told when saying that on here that our players will be playing to be here next season or to get a new deal elsewhere.

No they will not. They will all get jobs in easier leagues where they don't have to put in a shift and City will take whatever loss deal we get offered to offload as usual.

We should have played more youth today who WILL be here. As the ones who did play well did so because they are fighting for a future here.

So playing a load of soon to be ex City players was predictably suicidal.

We have it all to do now in a must win game days after our exertions on Wednesday. Arsenal will be happy with a draw as that guarantees third given they play Villa at home in a last game even today's City team would win!

I can write MPs press conference already blaming the exertions of a heroic extra time defeat and Sky not agreeing to move the game to Wednesday for why we lost 1-0.

But adding - hey - I have got a great new job managing Arsenal.

He is a perfect fit for their annual 'get fourth' campaign given as he has scuppered them from doing that this year.
