Southampton post match thread

Our 2nd X1 should be be built upon the talent in the academy, youngsters keen to progress and with a point to prove. Unfortunately our 2nd X1 currently revolves around players approaching the end of their careers and who no longer have the desire and hunger to succeed in a physically competitive premier league.
Spot on

Pellegrini is useless but is nearly gone, it's not as bad as people think for next year.

We have lots of top class players and a good solid spine - Hart, VK, Ferna, Serg, KDB.

The one thing we are badly lacking is coaching, is evident in every game. Even The clowns at centre half I am convinced will look a whole lot better with some coaching.

At present we look as though we have no game plan or a style of play. Pep will implement his style early on and add a few players of the right age and quality and all will be good. The main thing he will do is the let the players know that 2nd best isn't good enough.

At the minute we are to soft centered and 2nd best appears to be acceptable which at this level is absolutely not. At the very least he will have us competitive in every game.

Yep, that's about it .

He's not a miracle worker.

3 seasons he will be off somewhere else.

Any who think he will be beyond that need to put there storybooks away.

He will spend two of those seasons correcting the squad and buying his own players.
Pretty sad, I'm sure that was Txikis job to have a ready made squad for Pep to challenge on all fronts. A job which he has failed miserably.

Dont worry three games to go - now where's that we're gonna win the league thread

Do you realise how sad that statement is?

Still, a defeat gets you and a few others back on the forum so its not all that bad is it?

That's enough though. 3 seasons of him building us a winning squad and winning trophies and when he leaves we can get the next best manager to inherit the squad and continue winning. Our academy should be in pretty great shape too by then.

Serious question. Is there a possibility Pep could crash and burn in this league?

Its possible, but I dont think so because one of his strengths is getting the most out of the players at his disposal. If MP were able to get even 50 fucking percent out of our lot in the league, I feel like we would have had much more of a say in where the Prem title ended up this season.

I think for the first time since the takeover we will take the league by storm in the way we have all wanted to see us do it.
