Southampton post match thread

I have deleted a fair few comments that go beyond criticism in regards to our manager, any more which are considered stepping over the line will be dealt with by way of warnings or bans,as emotional as that performance has made some of us.....please keep it respectful, cheers.

I thought we had this very expensive, all singing, all dancing squad BECAUSE we needed to play in Europe as well as domestically, and now we're saying we can't manage both?
We can't have it both ways. We said we need two quality players in EVERY position, and yet we only need to lose 3 players and we're all at sea? If that's progress, I'll eat my hat. That's a very expensive load of crap in my book.

Writing on the wall within 2 mins uninterested shit from the team.

To be fair Pelli only picked what he could with the semi looming, partly as he's never used any youth players and is either to stubborn or instructed to play out second string.

The second string has never been good enough over the 'glory' years, when the first choice play wank Yaya, KDB, Silva or Kun normally get us out of the shit.

Kolarov should have been turfed a couple of years ago, his last game should have been the end of season lap of honour (haha) when he offered the SS out.

Wasn't just him today but his speed getting back for their second was a disgrace.

The arse game after a tough semi is a biggy now.

Only positive was Nacho. He's going to be a star.
Thought we started quite well, sadly again no system or structure, left us wide open to a kick and rush team !!

Serious question - do you apply the same rules to criticism of players?

Pep needs to work on Sterling and play a system which will allow him to flourish - I think he will.
He won't however put up with Delph who is garbage.

GREAT points.

Can anyone explain to me why Aguero was on the bench? Given that Kompany and DeBryune were completely omitted from the squad I can only assume he was on the bench in case things were going wrong and we needed a goal. That being the case then surely you would bring him on when we went 2:0 down, if not then certainly at half time otherwise what is the point of him being on the bench?
As for his substitutions the less said the better, he may be a charming man but he is also a fucking clown at times.

Go on then, I'll have a try. Probably put Aguero on the bench with a view to bringing him on if we were losing but the game was salvageable. Then, part way through, thought "ah fcuk it, this is a lost cause".

I don't usually bother replying to your mainly tiresome posts but that last line of your is ridiculous. They are obviously far from shit considering that they are about to win the premier league.
Leicester may well be shit next season, but that will be because they have been stripped of these "shit" players by richer clubs.

An exaggeration, yes. But not too much of one.

Defending is an especially coachable art. One that we have been severely lacking all season!

I don't know all the in and outs on the human body but I don't get this resting them stuff
I'm pretty sure they will train between now and Wednesday so couldn't they skip a days training instead of a PL game or is it the risk of getting injured more than them getting a rest ?
People saying they looked tired 2nd half v Madrid but we set off at a quick pace fired up and closing down well so we were obviously going to look a bit tired later in the game

Respect is something you earn, our manager is a fraud and is stealing off every city fan, over two years of this crap, all those who have supported him well done, it's all a big jolly at our expense

The same reason marathon runners don't run the distance every week or boxers don't do 12 hard rounds every week.

This is my point at half time it was a salvageable situation if he wasn't going to bring him on then why have him on the bench.

I'm not asking that you don't criticise as you see fit, however,I am requesting that the language used is civil and constructive.

For a while after half time we actually looked OK if not great and I think Aguero was only ever going to get about 20 minutes. Although Bony was pretty rubbish our midfield and defense were worse and I don't think Aguero would have helped there.
