Southampton Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Re: Give Southampton some credit.

Yeah, good points made here. As bad as we were today, Southampton have been improving for a while now and will possibly continue to do so. Could well be pushing for a top half spot next season providing they stay up this season, and St Mary's will become a very tricky place for any team to go.

2-0 down. Fan shouts 'reality check needed'. Wasnt so long ago since we were in the 2nd division.

2-0 down against a side who have just been promoted, playing the champions and that is what is spouted. It happened away at Madrid with the tourist brigade too busy taking photo's and now it's happened away at Southampton.

Fucking small time mentality. Shameful.

And then what happens - small time irony songs return.

sang it at madrid, sang it at macclesfield, sang it at the fa cup final, sang it at arsenal away last year and sang it at QPR match last year

your point is?

"Maybe this is the kick up the arse we need..."

NO, I thought that was Sunderland, QPR, Liverpool... now Southampton. Has the penny not dropped yet? There's no gear we haven't found yet. We labour over all our wins bar a few. We are just not that great. We. Are. Not. That. Great.

And the club need to sort it out.

I was very suprised that Milner didn't start the game and I thought Nasri was a bit unlucky to be subbed as their were a few City players much worse than him today. The biggest worry for me is that twice in a row now we have been blasted away in the central Midfield area. Add to that some awful individual errors and a spirited Southampton side on the way up and with new Manager syndrome and it was a recipe for disaster.

Disaster it was to be with our worse performance in a League game under Mancini. We did improve slightly after the later substitutions and Kolorov in particular looked the part when he came on.

The Title is all but gone now.

That is the worst performance since we got battered by forest. I am actually embarrassed today. I can not believe that was us. Big change is coming

Losing 8 - 1 to Middlesborough was the low point for me or have you blanked that out :(

They think its "cool" to be shit and shout "forza" every 5 mins.

The Forza Mancini folk are infinitely worse than anyone on the main forum. We should just "be happy" according to that lot.

It has been coming the signs were there when we played Southampton at Home. Believe it or not in that game, it was Nasri who was one of our better performers.

It wasn't the worst performance since Forest, our League Cup loss to Villa earlier this season made today's performance look like Barcelona.
