Southampton Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Ok we played shite. But we got a point away, against a good much improved top half club. Plenty of games yet to win.

Without singling out individuals, I thought as a team we defended a lot better than we did earlier in the Season away from home. We also, to my eyes created the slightly better chances.

I am taking the positives from this and that was a point won and if Yaya and Kun and Negredo are going to have an off day, then its better being at St Mary's than next week at home to Arsenal.

After you've done that, answer a question for me... did we play well today?

How do you think we played ?

Frankly, we were poor and were lucky to get a point.

Yes, but against a good team playing as well as they have in years and at a ground that's become a bit of a fortress.

Put it in perspective.

We've played five games in less than three weeks and won them all, apart from today, scoring 17 goals in the process.

It's all about momentum and we have it.

No we weren't lucky , we had as many if not better chances to win the game, but the point is that given their depleted squad which cost about 2/6d compared to ours costing fifty zillion we should have won.

Eh, we are moaning?, why?.
Southampton are a good team, a draw at theirs is not to be sniffed at.

I think we are moaning because we just didn't turn up, yes we were lucky to get a draw, and considering we didn't play well that in itself is good, but a team with league winning hopes should do better, and by the time the season is over they [Southampton] will be in about 10th place.

Until we start playing 4-5-1 again away from home we will carry on getting over run in midfield against quality passing sides. I think Pellers under estimated the Saints because they were in a poor run of form. We are still playing open football like the owners and directors dictate and there's nothing that will change that in my opinion.
