Southampton Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Why dont we punish teams away from home , we should have been 3-0 up after 20 minutes , same at west brom , missed a sackful of chances 5-0 at half time would have flattered them , todays result confirms why we wont win the league this year ,although we will finish in top 3 , but i wish this team would just fucking believe in itself away from home

Demachalis instead of lescott is bizzare, I will have he is technically better on the ball but defensive wise joleon is better,

100% correct , lescott and kompany are still our best defensive partnership .

Southampton's home results against top teams since returning to the PL. From oldest to most recent:

Southampton 2-3 United
Southampton 1-2 Spurs

* Pochettino takes over *

Southampton 1-1 Arsenal
Southampton 3-1 City
Southampton 3-1 Liverpool
Southampton 2-1 Chelsea
Southampton 1-1 City

So stop crying, it's probably the toughest away ground to go to for any top club now. They play with incredible intensity. Every country has a team like this, go watch Bilbao vs. Barca from last weekend.

Halle-fucking-lujah

I would have Lescott over him all day. Demichelis is nowhere near the level we need IMO.

What is the matter with everyone? I fully expected Southampton to come at us today - they are a decent side.

Sick of this divine right syndrome sneaking in from a certain section of our support.

A decent point away from home considering we could have easily lost - but pants only had one save to make of telling besides the goal.

We have a ton of games coming up - after 1st Jan 2014 we will see where we are and then worry if still way behind Arsenal.

Everyone assumes they will not drop points but they will.

I think a lot of us agree with this. But you know what empty vessels specialise in.

Go on, show me one post, just one where you've seen this 'divine right' attitude.

Now count up in the hundreds of posts since the game, how many have said that a point away to Soton is poor?

After you've done that, answer a question for me... did we play well today?

Hardly bizarre. And very hard to see Joleon playing for Bayern Munich, or Argentina. And much as I like JL, very, very hard to see him in a La Liga team of the year, as recently as last season.

MDM was solid today. Impressive even. Composed on the ball, a good passer - and works the offside trap very effectively, something which snuffed out a lot of dangerous Southampton possession today.

actually we should have won . My favourite player missed a sitter. All those Dzecko haters should take note even serge misses them - and that one was simple.
Serge - I love you but ffs please bury them when you can.
A point today is not bad but we should have had three

Eh, we are moaning?, why?.
Southampton are a good team, a draw at theirs is not to be sniffed at.
It is when we employ the same naïve tactics that have caused us all of the problems we've had this season and allowed Southampton to boss the midfield because of the numbers mis-match.

It also is when we're nearly half way through the season and we've only won two away games and only played well for about 135minutes away from the Etihad all season, and still have Swansea Arsenal Newcastle United Liverpool Everton to play away.
