Your memory is bad pal. The shop was there in 88(and well before then) when the inflatable craze started.

It was big enough for our needs back then as we didn't have any gloryhunters turning up and walking out with a bag in each hand.

Football basically got it's house in order and realised the value of decent merchandising.

However, Swales alluded to this in that documentary in the 70's, but then sold it all off which was a disaster and resulted in legal challenges and a further 2 Club badges.
