Spanish Gaz.

Good to se him playing but considering we are down to the bare bones it really would say something if he wasn't getting a game. Lets see if him and Petrov feature with a fully fit squad.

He looked very comfortable tonight. Garrido's a very good player and was rated as a future international when we signed him. His problem has been that he's never had anyone in front of him providing a shield so he doesn't get exposed. Under Hughes the full backs were left one on one with a winger constantly and they are invariably going to get roasted occasionally. Garrido's confidence was back last night because of the shape of the team. The midfield and defence are together as one and even Petrov was making Wolves play around him and harrying the into making mistakes even if he wasn't diving in winning the ball back.

According to many 'fans' he's sh*t!! Worst player at the club!! Get rid!!

After all, they know what they're talking about! After all, Hughes thought so too!

City fans, ffs...

He always has been in some skyblue circles. He is a left back essentially where people expect solid tackling and pace. Unfortunately this is not Javier's strength. He possesses all the skills for a berth between the back four and the midfield but where would that put him.

He has shown on the two occasions when called upon to know what he is doing and has the skill to execute it. Yesterday, I think, was a better example than the one v. the BinDippers. He is a young lad still, with a lot of footballing left in him. We should hang on to him.

Mancini has obviously (sorry about this word, but it does fit) found something in training that some fans saw when he first arrived.

But at the same time Hughes would never have played him in this situation. He would have played Sylvinho whos legs have well and truly gone.

Manchini gave him the chance and he delivered, whereas Hughes simply isolated players on the fringes.

He scored a freekick. That has nothing to do with how good he is at the position he actually plays in. It's amazing that you are willing to change your opinion of a lad because of 30 minutes. If you8 already thought Garrido was good, perhaps we just have different opinions of what the job of a LB is.

I still think he's crap. He's far too weak (though to be fair he has bulked a little), he is still positionally bad, he was lazy, he isn't great in a tackle and he isn't great in the air. What he can do though, is take players on, have a bit of pace, whack a FK, and pass the ball/cross well. He's a winger, never a LB.

He has a long way to make up for his performance in the 6-0 against Chelsea. That day, he literally cost us 4 or 5 goals.

I was there. He had a hand in every goal, and personally cost us 4 or 5. I remember one where a Chelsea player ran past him while he was literally watching him. He wasn't moving, just stood on the spot, watching him go past.

Wow. The intention was to highlight and congratulate Gaz on a great goal, a desire to come on and do well for the team. Not to proclaim him the greatest footballer alive. So I'll say it again, well done Garrido. It was clear it meant alot to him.
