Spanish Mundo ABC: Mourinho made a deal vith Manchester City

If (and it's a big if) Mancini leaves City, I would much rather have Guardiola than Mourinho.

guardiola is a great manager and his tactics are superb but he's not mourinho, who's done the business wherever he's been.

I should add I have not given up on Bobby leading City to the title and making it nigh on impossible to sack him.

I don't think the decision will be based upon where we end up finishing this season. For me that would be grossly unfair on Mancini because he's already proven he deserves another season. It would also be strange to make such a big decision on such a fine margin. The key to all this is the fact that Roberto is going into the last year of his contract. It is not unthinkable that we win the title, and the owners still/i] decide that they aren't prepared to improve his terms until he's had another season in Europe to assess how he does. This could well be the catalyst for change if Bobby feels he deserves the contract immediately (which I think he would if he wins the league). Remember he practically walked out on Inter midseason because of rumours of Jose being lined up. He's a very proud man.

He'll get the phone call = he'll be in charge of us next season
He wont get the phone call = stays at Real

We hold the cards this time.........................
There's a third scenario. He makes the phone call....

He already has........we already know what he wants

Who would be his number 2 mate ?

Incidentally Ferguson didnt win anything for his first two seasons a poorer record than Mancini and Wenger didint win anything in his first full season in charge either. So they were kept irrespective of their early record and continual success followed.

No one is saying we should keep a manager 15 years without success, we already have a manager in place who has already achieved success, thats the issue why change it. We have the squad and the manager in place to deliver that success why change that when we have no guarantee of the results?

Oh dear, here we go again. Taggart joined them nov 86 according to wiki. In 87-88 - his first full season - he finished second: that sounds like a pretty good first full season in charge to me?? So I don't accept he was kept "despite" "only" finishing 2nd.

We will finish a minimum of second this year, but that is not good enough for you?

Was it six years before he lifted a cahmpionship, but you want to replace ours after two?

Also the following two seasons he finished elevneth and fourteenth

I only want to replace him if JM is available, not for anyone else. Times are different than the late 80s and we have spent a lot in a short space of time, so we should be expecting a lot. My point is less unhappiness with RM, but more not passing up the opportunity to get JM this summer if he is available. Sometimes success is about being bold enough to make a change when things are going relatively well.

Anyway, it's been fun, but after "20 pages of bullshit", I think my time's up Frank. Let's hope we get a big win tomorrow to boost that goal difference eh?!

Fair play pal I always enjoy a lively debate and respect your contribution regardless of whether we have a conflict of opinion. See you this time next year, when we will be talking about swapping Mourinho for Guardiola and Messi is coming too.

He's already been in contact with a certain individual about being his number 2 on his return but i can't name him for obvious reasons.

I can think of the perfect man ;-)
