A bloke on one of my courses was actually on a bike.Out jogging mate
It is a money making scam. They say it is a non profit organisation...in other words they bung the directors a load at the end of the year so that they can show break even. Not a waste of time exactly, I'm on 3 also but I do think that it should be part of the driving test. I just don't listen.....
Ergh so how did they trace him?A bloke on one of my courses was actually on a bike.
Not strictly true. You can be prosecuted for doing 1 mph over the limit. There's nothing in the law that gives leeway, 10% or otherwise.
Got done in the exact same spot doing 48, course at the end of AugustI just got done for doing 47 in the outside lane of the M60 going east around Worsley. The only safe place on that stretch is in the outside lane .The overhead speed display went 60 then 50 I slowed down and when it dropped to 40 there was no congestion...Money making racket.
...good question, he didn't say.Ergh so how did they trace him?
...people NOT driving according to the conditions within reason is equally or more annoying, common sense seems to go out of the window. It is a money making scam. I know the speed limits I just don't stick to them, that does not make me dangerous, I drive according to the conditions.
Walkers the lot of 'em
You say only yourself to blame but what were you really doing wrong ? Unlike the wanker who has just been jailed for killing 2 people. He was texting constantly whilst driving his HGV. Use the cops to get these people not motorist doing 5-8 miles over a made up limit.Did one of these a few years ago,
An hour into it, a bloke stood up and said "I'm not listening to three more hours of this shit" and walked off.
Seems most on my course were caught out when the speed limits change from 40 to 30 without warning.
I was the only one caught on the motorway - 79mph by a mobile unit on the A303. Good conditions, clear day, not much traffic and going with the flow of the other cars. They must have made a few quid that day.
Only myself to blame.

I disagree. If you want to get somewhere quicker, set off earlier. The speed limit is a maximum, not a minimum and I rarely if ever go over 50-55 mph. The other lanes are for overtaking only, not sitting at 80-90mph plus. The only time I'm ever in those lanes for any length of time is if I think the traffic is deliberately and persistently exceeding the speed limit and I pop into the middle / outside lane with the cruise control on 70 for ten mins or so. Of course you get the odd dickhead flashing and tooting, but overall I think I've prevented many accidents over the years.I wish there was as much emphasis on drivers dangerously driving below speed limit especially on entering the motorway - it is so dangerous.
Do you brake on dual carriageways to let people on?I disagree. If you want to get somewhere quicker, set off earlier. I find that by travelling at a sensible speed there is no need. the slip-road is long enough for the incoming vehicle to match my speed and join safely.Do you brake on dual carriageways to let people on?

That is very sensible but if you are going to enforce the law why not, after setting the cruise control at 70, straddle the middle and outside lane. That would stop people undertaking.I disagree. I would, but Lines and markings of the road HWC 127-32 make this illegal, although in some senses what you suggest may indeed be the christian duty of any safe driver. That is very sensible but if you are going to enforce the law why not, after setting the cruise control at 70, straddle the middle and outside lane. Ah right, I've never read the HWC so I didn't realise that.I would, but Lines and markings of the road HWC 127-32 make this illegal, although in some senses what you suggest may indeed be the christian duty of any safe driver.
