Spitfire or Hurricane?

Forgive my frank comments but bollocks - a simple typo - the RAF work to July mine was a genuine mistake. I am sure you knew that.

Anyway - for those demanding pics - Mods - apologies for the warbird porn

After viewing the photos it has to be the Spitfire. Iconic as it is I do not know much about the Hurricane. I do know about the Lancaster Bomber though what about a thread about that? I would start one myself but I do not know enough?

Hawker Hurricane, had an Airfix one as a kid.

Also overall the design of the Stukka was really nice.

Spitfire - a thing of beauty. Even my wife who has not one iota of interest in anything warlike will purr with contentment at the sight of a Spitfire flying over (then again she married me so perhaps her taste is a bit debatable).

I knew a great chap who was in the Dambusters he was a friend of an uncle who'd served in the RAF. Blokes name was Jim Clay and I'd known him since I was little. I always went to see him when he was down visiting with his wife Pat and one morning we got chatting about planes and fighters being the glamorous aircraft of the RAF. It was the first time he'd ever mentioned his war to me and at the time I was in the army in Germany he said so where are you posted? I said a town called Lemgo near Bielefeld.
He raised an eyebrow as he took a sip of his cup of tea and said "ah, I know Bielefeld, I blew the viaduct up there one time".
