I’m paying devils advocate here…

But if our normal system and way of playing is only successful when rodri is available should we not have a contingency or an alternative way of playing to suit the available squad?

We are conceding the same goal time after time and are far too easy to play through. It could have easily been more than 4 today.

It’s not even like we like we’re sacrificing defence for attack either, we look as blunt as we ever have under pep.

Yes we have other injuries but we still have experienced/world class players capable of putting in better performances than we’ve seen the last two games.

Looking at our next few games I’m not holding much hope of it improving unless there’s a system change. Yes we have players returning but we know it takes time for players to regain form and fitness, it’s not going to be an instant fix.
We just need to get to 40 points ASAP.

What the hell happened in this game? I see the score 0-1 early on and assumed it was a done deal. Was the score flattering to them?
To be honest, it was a bit. We dominated the first 35 mins. Then they got one on the break and we were a bit shocked but half-time was just seen as a chance to regroup. But then before 50 mins came up we were 3-1 down (one very good goal, the other a penalty) and that was that. We just folded. They got another via a penalty after we missed one of our own to bring it back to 3-2. Weird weird game, lots of tired players very low on confidence right now.

The "we was shite once so anything that happens in the future is ok" post. Bingo. What a load of shite, when we was shite it wasn't fun but it was expected. No pot to piss in, average players and so on. It isn't the 90s anymore mate, we are a juggernaut of a football club with the best manager and players in the game. Losing games happens, losing playing like a bunch of half arsed idiots shouldn't ever happen
Yeh it’s fucking weird to hear that shit. You don’t get extra blue points…

Well who said no one was available ?

Just making the point that it’s not as easy as just going out and getting someone. Walker’s replacement needs to be a top quality player and there aren’t many of them around in that position. What we shouldn’t do is just get someone half decent for the sake of it.

I don’t recall that happening.

I recall losing due to injuries, exhaustion, loss of form and confidence.

We’re in a tough period and people need to hang tight.

The old problem of us not taking our chances hasn't gone away. With or without Rodri. I haven't a clue how we do really address that issue even with our current attackers. A new signing wouldn't fix that either.
