Sporting CP (H) - CL Last 16 | Post Match Thread

I doubt one person, myself included, was disappointed to see some kids get a chance. It was still a boring game though. People can think both.
Very true. Been to many games like this before and it is what it is.
Tonight was a game management 90 mins, was never going to be about fan experience and all about getting through 90 mins with minimal efforts ready for bigger fish to fry.

Wasn't expecting much tonight after the first leg result and the performance on Saturday. So tonight was a slightly more intense training session. Most of the team were a 6 or 7 out of 10.
We sit in 142 and there were a few Algerian fans sat behind us tonight. Very quiet in the first half, but once Mahrez came on they were really up for it every time he touched the ball.
The funniest thing was when Mahrez came over to take a corner another couple of lads went running down the steps to cheer him but by the time they got there he had taken a quick short corner and had moved away so they had to walk back to their seats looking very disappointed.
He took another corner later on and the lads came rushing down the steps again but he was there for longer that time so they came back up looking a lot happier.

Yes, agreed on ER - got the sense he was ‘playing it safe’ which I guess was understandable
That was my thoughts... So many times I though 'go on lad, storm down the wing and put a cross in ffs' but he'd play it backwards. I know he's inexperienced and a kid but jesus kid.... Go for it, make a difference to the game, make your mark on the game.

Completely, mate.
