Inconvenience to fans

Could fuck up our chance of winning the league Cup - next game if we beat Oxford will be 2 days after this. We are going to have to heavily rotate and if we get a decent team away we will be out

Well, we have Shakhtar at home on Wednesday, 7 November, which potentially allows us to switch any League Cup tie to Thursday, 1 November and our home game with Southampton to Sunday, 4 November, thus keeping 2 clear days between each fixture. You'd really hope (without much conviction, I admit) that the Premier League and the Football League would be accommodating given that we're in this mess of a situation through no fault of our own. That basically involves the PL or EFL switching a potential League Cup opponent's fixture that weekend to Sunday as well.

But of course, as ever, matchgoing fans are being shafted. And you really have to wonder about the state of the pitch at Wembley the day after it hosts the last of three NFL games in a fortnight. Not happy at all, even if we get fixture rearrangements along the above lines.

Just another example of fans being treated with contempt. People who have already booked train tickets/hotels will be left out of pocket.

What's the chances of City agreeing to that date but making sure spurs agree to refund those who have already booked trains?
