Spurs’ new stadium

Playing on a turnip patch? Mad.
I bet City fans who have bought non-refundable tickets and accommodation get screwed over.
Takes me back to Wembley LC final 1970 - a day or 2 after - Horse of the Year Show - Mercer was livid at the state of the pitch.

Think it's a cheap shot to criticise spurs for the stadium delay. Sorting a venue yes. Stadium delay no.

Contradicting yourself there. They shouldn’t have planned to play any games at the new stadium until they definitley knew it was going to be ready. Our fans are now out of pocket and we will now have to play on a chewed up pitch.

Recently I read or saw a programme (maybe Youtube) about Stadiums having 2 pitches.
Not sure if it was Japan or Germany where the matchday pitch rolls out - under the stand - and covers a car park - until matchday then it rolls back
into the stadium - leaving the matchday traffic to park on the car park.
Anyone else see this?.

Genuinely interested to learn why you believe Spurs to be a "fuck up of a club". Sure, we might not have won any trophies in a long time and we suffer our fair share of disappointments. And, yes, Levy is in the process of overseeing a huge construction project that will overrun by a couple of months (par for the course on such projects, by the way). But, even with your Man City hat on, can you not grudgingly concede that Spurs is one of the better run clubs anywhere? It might not operate the same model as your club's but, in almost every respect - first team; academy; stadium; training ground; finances - I'd have thought that Spurs is near the top of the curve.

To my mind, a fuck up of a club would be the likes of Leeds, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham or....dare I say it......Man City prior to ADUG's intervention. All of them big clubs that, for whatever reason, massively and perennially underperform; get themselves into financial difficulty; get relegated; or move to a soulless athletics stadium with seats miles from the pitch and are then surprised when the fans loathe it!

I wouldn't yet totally rule out the possibility of the game being played on the Saturday at the new stadium. The Wembley option for the following Monday might well, at this stage, only be provisional.
I think the fuckup club reference is down to years of semi-mismanagement - Selling the best players, not buying, just about keeping Poch, not buiulding around Kane, Wembley last year, this year who knows where. All happening whilst the news seems to be filled about how Spurs are on the verge of winning things. It's a bit like a little-Liverpool.

I dont see it changing, Kane is brilliant, Poch is brilliant, now is the best chance ever to back the manager and build around Kane and he hasnt done it and doesnt look as if he will. It's all going a bit Matt Le Tissier with Kane imo.

I hope they achieve, I quite like spurs since 1981, good club, but the owner is a business man first and a spurs fan 2nd.

If Monday night is true then the fourth round of the Carabao Cup should be played in the week starting 29/10/18 with Southampton at home on the following Saturday. Will we play on the Thursday?

Not sure where the contradiction is tbh. You don't definitely know about a project until the day before....anything could go wrong. I don't for a second think it was deliberate on their part. Dates would have been based on professional advice I'm guessing.

Fans will be out of pocket, theirs too. Unless they get reimbursed, which they should be. No excuses not to cover fan costs. So we agree.

I did say about the pitch and I agree it's likely, but we're guessing and I'm certain spurs won't want to play on an iffy pitch either, not like they're a pub team or have a deep squad

yes, multiple pitches.

If the Tottenham game is played on the Monday and they are still in the League Cup they would have to play two days later on the Wednesday - they have a Champions League game the following Tuesday (6th November) so have to play their premier League game against Wolves on the Saturday (3rd November). Likewise we wouldn't be able to move our game against Southampton to the Sunday if we were drawn against Arsenal, Liverpool, Wolves or Tottenham as they all have to play on the Saturday (Liverpool have a Champs League game the following Tuesday) and so would not play a League Cup game on the Thursday two days before. The potential disruption from this rescheduling beggars belief - the solution must be to postpone or find a ground where Tottenham can play us on the Sunday (or for Tottenham to forfeit the points).

They're going to have to move other fixtures about now and fuck the fans about.

But sure so long as Spurs don't get punished for their own poor planning then it's OK.
