Spurs’ new stadium

Their league cup tie has been moved here to Stadium MK (Milton Keynes Dons stadium), I live in Milton Keynes and just spoke to someone here at the club who said just this "I can tell you that's not the only Spurs home game we will host this season" ... make what you want to make of it ...

Its nailed on we are going to play there by the sound of it, I wouldn't be surprised if we dont get an allocation. How many season ticket holders do spurs officially have?

Nothing surprises me with Spurs. Levy always gets a good press for some reason. I think they do very little for their own fans. For a London-based club of its size it has almost always been an underachiever. Two top level league titles since 1882 is a pathetic record (despite 8 FA Cup wins) Off the field they have been a shambles for more than a century. To be fair City have also been run by cowboys for much of our history but we have always been criticised for it. Levy is getting a free pass on the stadium cock-up from his pals in the media.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this but Arsenal & West Ham are both away that weekend so both the Emirates & London Stadium are free. They should be told to play the game at one of these.

How would that work? Do you suppose in similar circumstances they could just "tell us" to play at Old Trafford?

Genuinely interested to learn why you believe Spurs to be a "fuck up of a club". Sure, we might not have won any trophies in a long time and we suffer our fair share of disappointments. And, yes, Levy is in the process of overseeing a huge construction project that will overrun by a couple of months (par for the course on such projects, by the way). But, even with your Man City hat on, can you not grudgingly concede that Spurs is one of the better run clubs anywhere? It might not operate the same model as your club's but, in almost every respect - first team; academy; stadium; training ground; finances - I'd have thought that Spurs is near the top of the curve.

To my mind, a fuck up of a club would be the likes of Leeds, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham or....dare I say it......Man City prior to ADUG's intervention. All of them big clubs that, for whatever reason, massively and perennially underperform; get themselves into financial difficulty; get relegated; or move to a soulless athletics stadium with seats miles from the pitch and are then surprised when the fans loathe it!

I wouldn't yet totally rule out the possibility of the game being played on the Saturday at the new stadium. The Wembley option for the following Monday might well, at this stage, only be provisional.

Besides it is going to be longer than a couple of months! Been told again looking like February

Spurs fuck up, and City fans have to pay the price. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would just move this to another London club.

Just been told it's being played at Wembley on the Mon night ... Looking online now to double check
I don't believe it. I just can't see City hierarchy, being the shrewd operators they are, agreeing to 4 matches in 8 days just because of Tottenham cocking up with their stadium.

Monday night match followed by a League Cup tie on Wednesday? Then Saturday and Tuesday fixtures in PL and CL. Nah, it'll be played on Saturday at Stadium MK or somewhere in London.

Far from Spurs being punished for their fuck up they're getting away with this scot free. No wonder Watford are pissed at them.... The fixture with Watford really should be reversed, Spurs need to be punished for the delays so we dont get the piss taken out of the premier league again.

We should get a bye in the League Cup for this as good a will gesture (should we beat Oxford of course). We should be tied with Spurs for that round (should we beat Oxford) and Spurs have to forfeit the round against us.

Nobody ever had a problem with Liverpool or Bayern getting a byes in the European Cup back in the 70s.
