Not very daring though, is it?

In the short term - no. But it lays the foundations for the sale of Spurs (and a possible London NFL franchise) to, for instance Facebook, and then we might be in a position to challenge City.

Liverpool spending £170m on goalkeeper, a two defensive midfielders and a someone who was a bit shit at Stoke will not challenge City either.

No but what Liverpool have done is show ambition. Spurs have been in a great position to really challenge these last few years and have decided to piss up the wall a great chance of winning the league.

Signing no players is a farcical decision and one which I believe will cost you top four next season.

Yeah, well one of them is 29, coming off an injury, and running down his contract. The other is a 22 year old attacker who still has loads of potential. As for wages, it's both... if Spurs just paid their players what they're worth they wouldn't have to sell one of the aforementioned top 5 defenders in the world.

Spurs don't have to sell Alderweireld - and indeed didn't sell him.

He actually really wanted to sign a new contract with Spurs. Asked for a big wage rise. Levy baulked. Pochettino went in to bat for Toby. Persuaded Levy to pony up. Levy relented. And then, at the last moment, Toby's agent did a Levy and demanded an even bigger wage increase. Poch was furious with Toby. Thought that Toby had let him down after he had done all he could to get him the pay rise he wanted. It was after that that Toby was frozen out. Poch wanted shot of him.

He was until his injury, in fact he was probably the best centre back in the league. He looked slow and rusty since he came back

Do you think the current squad have more to give or would you say it is a bit of a concern regarding pushing on. One other thing bud, do you think that Alderweirald (no idea how to spell his name, sorry),Rose and Dembele will be a bad smell or get stuck in? Not really sure of the situation with them and the management myself, maybe you have more of an idea?

They'll all be fine, I reckon. Dembele wanted to stay anyway but, because of his injury problems, Spurs didn't offer him the length of contract he really wanted. Rose might still go - though I hope he doesn't. If he does, Kyle Walker Peters is ready to step up as deputy to Ben Davies. Excellent, young player - although right back is his best position.

As to Alderweireld, as I said above, the biggest issue is whether Poch is ready to forgive him rather than vice versa.

It will look fantastic when it’s finally complete.
Every new stadium pushes forward design perametres and it is great to see clubs embrace it when it is planned correctly.

Imagine that end with safe standing.
Yep will be the best stadium in the europa league !!

That's a great story, but how the negotiation went down is irrelevant. If Spurs paid players closer to what they're worth on the open market they wouldn't be in a situation where they stop playing some of the best players towards the end of seasons because Pochettino's feelings are hurt, and certainly wouldn't have to sell them to title rivals or occasionally lose them for way below market value like you will with Alderweireld next summer.
