Coutinho also signed an extension months before he left, whereas Eriksen will be heading into the final year of his deal. Spurs will be very lucky to get £80m, if anything I think he'll be closer to Mahrez's price.

Eriksen has over two years remaining on his contract.

Haha

It is a brave or stupid man (or woman) that contradicts JimB on any matter involving Spurs' business arrangements.
Daniel Levy you mean?

If he can find any mention of the contract going past 2020 or of an option on it I'll be surprised. I'd say Pochettino would be as well going by his comments.

Why ? He seems to have taken you in, by his I know everything about Spurs Persona.
Except when he keeps posting incorrect information, that can easily be checked.

I'm highlighting the difference between spurs and yourselves in terms of ref decisions, not one of ours can get away with anything like what kane did or his and ali's tackles on us in both games last season,if i'm still harping on about it in 5yrs kill me lol

In pretty sure Sissoko got a ban for elbowing a while ago.

They wont call fouls back for mistimed challenges. Only headbutts, stamps, elbows etc unless it was an obvious attempt to injure a player. Aguero on Sideshow rings a bell lol

Sergio deserved it for that assault,in the past couple of seasons he has been banned for an elbow that nowhere near connected, mariner saw it during the game then changed his report when sky and MOTD kept replaying it,the derby was the game he missed, delph was sent off for a yellow carded tackle that the ref then changed his mind after a word in his ear and put the yellow away and went for a red instead, walker stepped back, didn't touch the guy and was banned, dinho was pushed by a chav player but he was the one sent off, when we had so many leg breaking tackles on us ,and kane and ali's were not mistimed, with no action it makes for a very touchy subject

Most Spurs fans take a long view. Not long ago we were a pretty bad side. We've improved. That makes us happy. Maybe next year Pochettino will be at Madrid and we'll have Eddie Howe managing us and we'll be back to the bottom half of the table. Or maybe we'll be champions. Who knows?

What matters to me is that I enjoy this Spurs side, the players, the manager, the culture, the way the club is doing things in a different way from other clubs. It won't last forever but while it does I enjoy it. Would I like a trophy? Sure. But as Pochettino said it is not the only reason for existing. Despite what Talksport and some on here will tell you.
Taking a long view is commendable but 58 years is maybe pushing it a bit. The new stadium will be superb but more than likely will not be matched by what is on the pitch as some of your better players move on. I think you missed a big chance of winning the league this year by not investing in the team, hopefully to our benefit.

You might well be right. Opportunity missed, no doubt.

But I've never understood this "you'll / we'll never have as good a chance again...." mantra that perennially rears its head. The same was said many times about Spurs in relation to qualifying for the Champions League. And that's now been proved wrong on multiple occasions.

I concede that I could well be wrong about Eriksen. Sure I read somewhere not too long ago, though, that said that Spurs have a further one year option.

Never claimed to know everything about Spurs. But I do know a considerable amount about the stadium build and, given the glut of tin foil hattery on here that surrounded discussion of the delay, joining in with the conversation was a temptation too far!
