I think it's a given that it will be better than Wembley for atmosphere. As spectacular as the new stadium looks, they've also taken atmosphere into account and that huge single-tier end is a great move in that respect.

We can only hope. The big unknown is the fans, though - will the right types to create an atmosphere be in that stand or will it be half full of types who only open their mouths to tell others to "siddown"?

For your sake I hope I'm wrong but I think that's exactly what's going to happen. I think when you move to a stadium where your 'core' is diluted due to increased capacity, it's inevitable

In my case there's a combination of that and the fact that the LS is not a football stadium

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

I'm holding on to a faint hope that, having spent near enough two seasons at Wembley, Spurs will experience the reverse of what City, Arsenal and West Ham experienced. Instead of moving from our old, intimate and atmospheric stadium into a vast, modern bowl that didn't feel like home, it will actually seem by comparison more like moving from a vast, modern bowl that didn't feel like home into a new, intimate and atmospheric home.

Brilliant Jim. Relentless positivity.

At least Spurs will be happy they are now in a stadium that will parade a trophy in the next few years.

The Superbowl!

So have spurs been given permission to flog tickets for palace and city even though they haven't done the required safety tests yet? is their a fallback for if levy has been bull shitting to the authorities again and the tests fail to obtain the certificate?

I believe the first game in the new stadium (Palace, I think) was to be televised, but now isn't as Sky(?) have switched to our Cardiff game instead.
Apparently some Spurs fans less than happy! I think I would be too :/
Can see why Sky did it, but it comes down (again) to no interest in the wider game, just profit, imo.

Why don't they just go to the game?
Bigger stadium to fit em in now.

I take it you're being sarcastic?

It's quite a slap in the face, can you imagine the outcry on here if this had been done to us!

I don't know why TV deals aren't flexible enough to cope and be able to show both; they spend long enough negotiating the damn things...

I'm not too bothered to be honest. Pretty sure it would have been live on TV if it hadn't been so long delayed and if there had been more notice of the fixture change. Can understand why Sky have chosen to focus on the title race at this stage of the season, even if watching City thrash Cardiff might not be such an attractive spectacle for the neutral.
