Spurs (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Some talent on that pitch and the academy did the club proud. I really rate Jacob Wright, whose constant availability for the ball is reminiscent of Rodri. O'Reilly into the game nicely, and Simpson-Pusey is the kind of front-foot defender who looks to progress the ball from defence quickly. Our injuries are serious but opportunity beckons for some serious talent.
Your sort of right any other team and these lads would most likely be getting minutes absolutely nailed on,it’s also how you unearth an unexpected gem even though they stand out for EDS,but not a chance even with injuries will pep play them he’ll end up moving other players into those positions..

Ah well. This competition isn't a priority but our lads gave it a good go. Nunes and Savinho were very good. Our young lads did themselves proud too. Never like losing but our squad doesn't need the extra fixtures. Just hope Nathan Ake and more worryingly Savinho are not out long. Savinho was in a fair bit of pain.

I’m game. As long as you don’t expect pace, strength or tactical awareness but are happy with the odd good pass and clinical finishing.

I’ll even play for free!
Happy to be on the bench as long as he doesn't want me to play; at 64 don't have the pace and stamina, skill definitely lacking.

Did better than I thought

Injuries can fuck right off

McAtee is not going to do anything here in my opinion

On to the league again
No good throwing in the likes of McAtee and writing him off after one start. Nunes is showing the best form since he signed because he’s playing every game. Hopefully McAtee gets more minutes over the next few weeks. Desperate for him to prove his worth as I don’t want to see another Palmer situation when he proves himself at another club.

We dont have the squad these days to win this competition, particularly with people like Foden and Gundogan not showing up.

Thought Wright and Simpson-Pusey did well, and we’ll probably need them with all the injuries we’re picking up.

Nunes was great in the first half and showed the attributes the team is crying out for - pace, directness and aggression.
