Spurs (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Even better, they are discounting the goalie (why they do that, God only knows).

So we have 10 outfield players and a sub, more than enough.

More than we had when losing the '55 Cup Final because we were down to 10 men, effectually after 17 minutes due to injury and no subs allowed then.

I don’t mind going out under the circumstances. Pick and chose when to fight on all four fronts, gauge the state of the squad and it if it is in good shape go for it, if not prioritise and integrate some kids in the lesser priorities and hope you go thorough.. if not you’ve gained something (experience for the youngsters) whilst not jeopardising the bigger stuff.

Tonight was the later and I can live with that. Good management imo.

Disappointing performance but expected really. We just have no creativity at present and we have to go into the market in January for a creative midfield player. Down to the bare bones now with Savinho the latest casualty
I'm sure the real Gundo is sat on his beachfront terrace in Barcelona slurping a pint of Boddies

Really surprised how people have a different perspective on the game. I honestly thought the 2 academy lads that started were awful tonight. O'Reilly especially. I really want him to be good enough based off pre season but he was terrible. That said most of them were tonight.

The 2 that came on did well but I'm confident none of the 4 will be playing for us in 2 years, although I still hope I'm wrong about O'Reilly.

The team was plenty strong enough tonight but they didn't turn up. Those saying we gave it a good go.... Really? Spurs had more and better chances. After we scored I thought we'd take the game to them, but no. Never mind though. Saves a few pennies which can go towards Munich

Just seen the draw, probably 4 top sides involved in the Semis

( Dips, Arse Spuds, Newcastle?)

City at home with feet up, whats not to like?

We miss Rodri.

Wembley has given me some of my best days watching city. But UCL/Premier League are the rightful priorities. Wish we would of won but proud of what the EDS showed

I really really rate nunes and thought he was excellent again tonight

They struggled at times & also did some very good things because they aren’t ready yet but all the better for the experience.

Can’t see that happening as the type of player we’d want won’t be available in January. We’ll just have to hope KDB gets back in what will probably be his swan song and then sign a long term replacement in the summer. Gundo and Foden could help if they improve and Bobb will be like a new signing. No doubt we’re struggling at the moment but still top of the league!

Maybe that's why Pep doesn't play him as one.

Thought O'Reilly had a decent second half, got into a few dangerous positions and very unlucky with the one cleared off the line. The injuries are piling up, I hope Grealish, Doku, Walker and Kev are closer to fitness than it seems.
He plays him as an inverted fullback mate

Need to find an open top bus first - hasn't been a need for one for quite a few years.

Tbf, I thought Spurs played the game pretty well. No theatrics when they had the best of the game, no parking the bus and no sportsmanship when they were hanging on.

A pleasant change. The result? A win would have been nice but in the circumstances, Mehh, who cares really. The young lads were fine unless we want to start the "not taking their chances" nonsense again.

Disagree about O'Reilly in particular. Yes he started poorly but was really good for an hour. Gundogan didn't help him, but when Kovacic came on it he looked solid. Simpson Pusey looks class.
