Spurs (A) | EFL Cup | Post Match Thread

Pep previously said this game not important and he will use youngsters but imo the team was much stronger with then bringing on Bernardo, Kova, Gvardiol too. some of those EDS players played yesterday could have featured here instead...
we lost anyway but lost some important players which now can cost us in the PL too.

albeit when other teams have these much injuries I often think something is not right, trainings, not ideal pre season, too many games. quite a few training injuries as well this season. getting absurd now with at least 1 injury per game now and probably another few after Bournemouth and Sporting games...
and then guess what intern. break and we know what that means, 90 mins into most of our players twice especially Haaland.

There’s a guy on Twitter who seems to have some connections. And he’s said that Walker isn’t injured and is instead ‘going through it’ at the moment with us trying to offload.

I’d rather see Lewis central and Akanji out at full back to be honest. Where possible.

Then I’d be looking at full backs in the window.
On Twitter? It must be true then!

Pep hasn't mentioned anything regarding Gvardiol...

I'll take that as good news!
Was he asked in the post match interview?

I would would say he would be coy at best but most likely say he wouldn't know when everyone bar Rodri will return this season.

Pep just walked off from the post match interview after trying to do so 30 seconds earlier

We shouldn’t be playing a system that suits a speed merchant when we have a snail playing there. The high line will be suicidal against quick teams coming up. We have to change that.
Agreed but Lewis is always running back from a central position so any ball from right to left (to his side) finds him yards away from any left winger. The fact he's of average pace just adds to our vulnerability.
