A deserved victory, but not an easy one. They never really looked like scoring and we never really looked like scoring but we looked less like not scoring. I like winning filthy like this.

The thing that impressed most last night was our defending. Nearly back to our best. Ake was superb and Dias wasn't far behind.
Gvardiol still has room for improvement mind.

Dias dropped back too early at times last night as he was worried about his pace. Not loads, but a better team may have exploited that a bit more.

We were far better as a unit though. Walker did his acceleration explosion too!

Peps front three starts were Bobb, Alvarez and Foden, three youngsters who ran, chased, pressed and harried the big Spurs defence until they ran out of steam and started to make mistakes.

KdB was brought on when there was more time and space to influence the game and Doku with his pace to run at and beyond the Spuds back line. Doku lost the ball several times around their goal line but stood watching or jogged back instead of sprinting and fighting to recover the ball. No excuse even when coming back from injury. Probably his worst game for us.
