Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Here we go sky wankers “ erling picked the wrong club”
At this moment in time, can you blame them? We're not playing to his strengths at all, first game of the season we thread a ball for him to run on to; haven't done it once since. And he probably realises we haven't got a cat in hells chance of winning the CL. It's a miracle he already has the return he has, really.

Rodri was absolutely abysmal today, not only for the pass to Lewis that lead to the goal. How he is starting in the form he's in and KDB is benched beggars belief
He has been over played. Pep says players can't play every game rotation is key. But he fucks over Rodri for some reason.

They do everything to please Pep, which also includes giving him the type of players he wants to play a certain way, regardless of name.

We are making stupid mistakes in the market, trying to replace legends.

£100m on Jack, £42m on Ake, £42m on Phillips, £16m on Akanji.

£200m on players who we either didn't need or wouldn't exactly miss if we had kept the money in the bank.

The problem is the first cycle under Pep still included Silva, Fern, Vinny, Sergio.

This next evolution is looking to players who are far removed from that talent and mindset.

And the ones who might have it in De Bruyne and Gundo are past their peaks.

I am more fearful that we can't evolve again with Pep at the helm, simply because he is wedded to a philosophy which may have also come to the end of its cycle.

Pep should have got himself a strong assistant in the summer, rather than a bunch of yes men.
Well said Sire

Had a season ticket for 12 years. How’s its spoilt?? It’s frustration watching players who have been bitching and moaning about wanting to leave put in shit performances and a manager who know’s he’s untouchable can just fuck about with the teams cause he feels like it.

Mate I've had a seasoncard for about the same time as you. I travel 160 miles to the Etihad. I have to contend with bad weather, train strikes and cancellations and road conditions if I drive But I know I'm fortunate to have access to one of the world's top teams playing in the world's top league. And that gives me access to seeing other top teams and players from the UK and abroad.I know there are thousands of football fans who would give their right arm to have what I have. Where I live other footie fans are envious. I understand how you feel but please just count your seasoncard blessing.

yep

the behind the scene are rotten, the players have down tools, the stink is not clearing and Cancelo leaving says its time up for pep

The players that downed tools for Mancini did the same to Pellegrini - if that is what’s happening - the club need to dig in behind Pep. Giving in to player power is a very dangerous strategy…

Said earlier in the season we’ve just been turned into a boring, shite team, it’s turgid football at it’s worst and painful to watch.

Feel sorry for Haaland, only City who could have a player of his calibre and then not attempt to get him the ball. Brilliant.

Square pegs, round holes everywhere. People whose legs have gone, too many who are just slow anyway. No left back whatsoever.

Just so easy to play against, there was a point in the first half when we had them pinned back and I jokingly said to my mates bet this ends up back with Eddie, and lo and behold it fucking did.

Mental that we are still in with a shout of this league, wouldn’t surprise me if we turned up at The Emirates and beat the arse.
You we’re talking sense until that last paragraph…..

I am frustrated. but I think we all deserve at least 5 minutes of frustration after that.
Yes you are entitled to that. But whilst you are in the middle of your crushing depression, just think about Mahrez shot that hit the underside of the bar just before half time. Imagine if we were 1-1 at half time. Fine margins mate. I would have backed City to go on and win.

Hold on sterling’s not ripping it up at Chelsea and has been told that he can leave if he wants to

I have zero interest in what he as done at Chelsea ( I can’t be assed getting into he has been injured ) am just saying he scored on average 15 goals a season and was quick so we could actually stretch a game .

It's Pep, and has been for a while.

Sending out teams with no consistent plan, shorn of putting players in their natural positions.

We have one of the greatest strikers in the world and consistently fail to play close enough to him for him to receive the ball in front of goal.

That's on Pep. Kev is slowing down at a rate of knots but there is nobody else who is able to create.

We are struggling for identity and leaders.

Can't fault Grealish and Ake application today.

It's absolutely criminal we have failed to address the lack of creativity and pace in the team.

You should know better mate.

You tell us the plans in place for the summer knowing full well it will be Pep implementing them for the next few years.

Our record breaking success is also on him and this season is far from over.
