Agreed. We've won 4 of the last 5 league titles, it's extremely hard for any team to maintain that mentality season after season.

I accept, having being going since 1970Our standards have dropped off - quite alarmingly but, out standards have been so high for so long. We have been amazing. We need to refresh the squad and get back to basics. Having a go at Pep is pointless - he is part of the solution. We’d do well to remember how good we have been these last 5 years or so. The club will be unhappy about today and changes will be made but infighting won’t help… it makes us look like entitled Rags. We need to accept you can’t win all the time and we need to focus on coming back stronger.
THISToo many players not of the previous quality.
Would love to see Foden as an 8 and a bit more dynamism.
So I take it then that the players have no personal pride, they're playing for the money and do not want to win cups ?A anyone who thinks we are still playing for him is deluded
Hahaha you've got some serious lack of self awareness you. Suggesting football isn't for someone else while having a take like that, amazing. If you don't think he has been the player of the season, I don't think football is for you my friend. Or who im your opinion has veen better? Rodri has been colossal
It might be unconscious bias, but it exists. You only need to know that our fouls in the first half were "cynical" and their fouls were "tactical".It’s just his opinion and weather you agree or not his points are valid ( with how he explained it ) don’t be another one who sky/media are against us cause it’s embarrassing
And also we have a lot of shit fans that are spoilt and whiny and don’t know much about football like this oneSome classics from the usual happy clappers in the pre-match thread...they're now looking a tad silly....they know who they are
Well, that was utter pish from start to finish.
Losing again to that pile of crap for a 5th time, no goals scored and apart from the shot off the bar in the 1st half, never looked like scoring.
Silva should be nowhere near that side again this season, offered the sum total of feck all.
That is on Pep, a formation and team that was firing blanks from the off and never looked like turning it around sadly. Still, at least they are all smiling on the training pitch, that excuses everything.
There is something wrong with this team, fighting behind the scenes, poor performances on the pitch. Squad getting smaller and one or two look disinterested.
No way are we winning the PL or CL playing like that
At this moment in time, can you blame them? We're not playing to his strengths at all, first game of the season we thread a ball for him to run on to; haven't done it once since. And he probably realises we haven't got a cat in hells chance of winning the CL. It's a miracle he already has the return he has, really. Here we go sky wankers “ erling picked the wrong club”
He has been over played. Pep says players can't play every game rotation is key. But he fucks over Rodri for some reason.Rodri was absolutely abysmal today, not only for the pass to Lewis that lead to the goal. How he is starting in the form he's in and KDB is benched beggars belief
Well said SireThey do everything to please Pep, which also includes giving him the type of players he wants to play a certain way, regardless of name.
We are making stupid mistakes in the market, trying to replace legends.
£100m on Jack, £42m on Ake, £42m on Phillips, £16m on Akanji.
£200m on players who we either didn't need or wouldn't exactly miss if we had kept the money in the bank.
The problem is the first cycle under Pep still included Silva, Fern, Vinny, Sergio.
This next evolution is looking to players who are far removed from that talent and mindset.
And the ones who might have it in De Bruyne and Gundo are past their peaks.
I am more fearful that we can't evolve again with Pep at the helm, simply because he is wedded to a philosophy which may have also come to the end of its cycle.
Pep should have got himself a strong assistant in the summer, rather than a bunch of yes men.
Had a season ticket for 12 years. How’s its spoilt?? It’s frustration watching players who have been bitching and moaning about wanting to leave put in shit performances and a manager who know’s he’s untouchable can just fuck about with the teams cause he feels like it.
yep
the behind the scene are rotten, the players have down tools, the stink is not clearing and Cancelo leaving says its time up for pep
You we’re talking sense until that last paragraph…..Said earlier in the season we’ve just been turned into a boring, shite team, it’s turgid football at it’s worst and painful to watch.
Feel sorry for Haaland, only City who could have a player of his calibre and then not attempt to get him the ball. Brilliant.
Square pegs, round holes everywhere. People whose legs have gone, too many who are just slow anyway. No left back whatsoever.
Just so easy to play against, there was a point in the first half when we had them pinned back and I jokingly said to my mates bet this ends up back with Eddie, and lo and behold it fucking did.
Mental that we are still in with a shout of this league, wouldn’t surprise me if we turned up at The Emirates and beat the arse.
Wont fix the real problem of the midfieldGet Dias and Laporte back in the team please
Yes you are entitled to that. But whilst you are in the middle of your crushing depression, just think about Mahrez shot that hit the underside of the bar just before half time. Imagine if we were 1-1 at half time. Fine margins mate. I would have backed City to go on and win.I am frustrated. but I think we all deserve at least 5 minutes of frustration after that.
Hold on sterling’s not ripping it up at Chelsea and has been told that he can leave if he wants to
It's Pep, and has been for a while.
Sending out teams with no consistent plan, shorn of putting players in their natural positions.
We have one of the greatest strikers in the world and consistently fail to play close enough to him for him to receive the ball in front of goal.
That's on Pep. Kev is slowing down at a rate of knots but there is nobody else who is able to create.
We are struggling for identity and leaders.
Can't fault Grealish and Ake application today.
It's absolutely criminal we have failed to address the lack of creativity and pace in the team.
