Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

More physical starting 11 made all the difference - i.e. no Lewis, Foden or Bernardo. Means that Spurs couldn't bully our weaker players. Nunes better in midfield than right back - more pace and strength. Haaland's late effort wrongly disallowed. Injury list shortening now - FA cup win and top 4 now very possible.

Three new players are getting used to the demands of the domestic game, but the others are also having to make a transition in the way we play. We've had season after season of high press and containing the opponent in their half, which meant much less running. Now, however, we're having to shuttle up and down the park on an almost continuous basis, and the players' bodies are just not used to it. Could be that we have to do a lot more stamina work in pre-season now and that is the same for the academy teams, too.
Agree with this. At our best we could control games by keeping the ball for long periods which allowed us to rest. I do think, when we buy in the summer and Rodri is back that Pep will revert to his favoured style. It will still allow the front players to be expressive but at times, especially when leading in games, we will take control of the ball and the game.

How bloody brilliant was Khusanov. One of the first names on the team sheet already. So quick, reads the game superbly, strong and clean in the tackle. His distribution is decent too, and with more coaching he can become outstanding in that respect too. That long pass over the top down the right for Savinho showed he has vision and passing quality.
And an early cross field ball to Doku was superb.

What did ref watch have to say about that laughable decision last night? As if I need to ask; Gallagher seldom ever goes against the officials at the match.
Unfortunately we don't get a midweek ref watch, don't know if Dean was in studio last night

I couldn’t watch the game tonight but just seen the highlights on MoTD.

Very interesting VAR decision for Haalands second goal “no conclusive evidence that it was NOT handball” therefore it is handball. What kind of f….d up logic is that ?

Anyway, well done boys, three important points.

Yeah there was today. As usual Gallagher supported the ref and said “VAR supported the refs decision” rather than they couldn’t find evidence to overrule it. He also talk bollocks about when ref blew for the “ handball”. All predictable nonsense

Never in my experience. Didn't bother to watch the Oxford rag - he's utterly pointless.
