Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Pep is clearly on his last legs and the players are responding accordingly.

The only thing I will say in defense of the squad is that a number of them are fairly new to the club and it usually takes time to gel but its clearly obvious we have no leaders and Rodri is no where near the player he was before his injury and may never be again.

I suspect he will be off in the summer back to Spain and Pep is most likely in his last season at the helm and its showing.

I think he should have gone on a high after the 4 peat.

Clearly the quality of the squad and game plan is not up to scratch to dominate teams on the scoreboard anymore.

Given that Forest in 17th have more than one point per game the gap between top and the rest has narrowed and the standard at the very top end has dropped appreciably.

We have stuttered in the past two seasons and have not strengthened the squad to previous levels and it shows itself too often during games.

All things must pass and we are only starting our rebuild but it will obviously have to be under a new manager.
I genuinely don't think the calibre of players exist to replace those that we have lost in recent seasons. We were very lucky to have had them. However, there may well have been better players around in contrast to some of those we've signed. Regardless of that though, it's disappointing to see some of the performances of quite a few within the squad. They should be doing a fair bit better.

Yes the goal should have been disallowed, but that just covers over how crap we were for 25 minutes after half time. Do we take sedatives at half time, because we come out half asleep with no energy.
Gunna be hard next week against a team that take inhalers at halftime (allegedly)

When you're building a new squad you can not let this sort of thing happen ? it will be 2 seasons of rebuilding and little progress, I truly believe in rebuilding in the summer of a title-winning season,

Pep and City fucked up and admitted to it that after the 4 in a row title season, we should have started the rebuild
6 months is a very big time scale to watch it all fall apart, also you can't do nothing about it till the winter transfer window.

its the simplest things sometimes that will kill you and that rebuild should have happened
Not easy to do when players like KDB and Walker were under contract. Losing Rodri vs Arsenal was also significant. Luck went against us.

You are right but the rebuild is happening or has happened so better late than never.

Do not give up. I don't think that City have done, however disappointing today's game was.

He's being grappled by two defender.
He's positioned where the ball is heading.
He's held and he can't jump.
Why should he still attempt to get to the ball whilst being disadvantaged?
He, as we are told, "had every right" to go down in order to force the ref to react; so fucking what if he "threw himself to the ground". He's not the first and he won't be the last to exaggerate the foul, but it's still a foul.
He didn't initiate the contact, they held him.

It's not a kick or a slap or any other sort of foul that happens in an instant. It's being held. By two blokes, before, during and after the ball is in play. Did the ref blow to stop the corner and address the contact before the ball was in play? No he fucking didn't.

It's a foul and it's a penalty, pal.

Learn the fucking basics ;)

(anyway, some very talented people are about to make pottery on TV and I need to calm down, so I'm going to watch that and try to forget about this shit-show of a match, have fun gas-lighting people with you "knowledge" whilst I'm away)
Mate put the prick on ignore..he never has a good thing to say about us..
We get fuck all from the officials and he thinks we don't deserve anything..
I don't worry about what he says anymore..

Pep can fuck off for me, I may as well not watch second halves as they are an absolute joke. Why does he not think the opposition will change what they do, I’m sick to fucking death of saying it.
Is that fair? If he does go who do you get? That's why the club needs to prepare. At least if he feels he is failing there's no point in staying on until Summer because the players will spot that and major fail will follow. That lead needed good game management today but we didn't get it did we? So , I see your main point but it is worth losing him right now? If he stays until the end of the season with full commitment and energy we might win something . It just feels as if he wants to go but just cannot bring himself to say it .

ATM in my head I'd prefer him to stay and see how we adapt with a fully fit and firing squad but for the first time I wouldn't put up too much of an argument if he was to call it a day. Certainly not sacked like some suggest, but at the end of the season so he walks with some dignity and hopefully a trophy or two.
IF he does stay then someone above needs to sit him down and say ''you want a small playing squad, then prioritise'' this semi final, we could get 'dicked'..what a waste...we will flog first teamer's in the FA Cup too... our small squad resulted in the loss v Leverkusen... we had to rest players but we have now depth so we get punished...poor club management by all

City's fanbase is now really soft and entitled. That's what bothers me more than anything else.

It was very disappointing not to win but 2-2 at Spurs is not a disaster. The game went against us and yes we should have done better but the Football Gods were also loaded against us.

I don’t think the frustration is really about the draw itself. A point away at Spurs isn’t a disaster in isolation. It’s more about how the game played out. Being two goals up against a Spurs side that looked deflated, low on confidence, 12 players out and clearly lacking belief in their manager and we should be seeing that game out against that Spurs side.

That’s what’s unsettling - not the bad luck or "football gods", but the recurring pattern in the performances. We’ve seen similar capitulation jobs already - United, Bodo, Brighton, Chelsea and almost Fulham. When it keeps happening, it stops feeling like coincidence.

Fans aren’t angry because of one result, they’re frustrated because the same issues resurface again and again and we keep conceding the same types of goals - whoever the personell is. At this level, we should be controlling games like that, not hanging on and hoping.

In the 2nd half two players dragged Haaland down in the box at a corner, no penalty awarded.
Baffling.
The amount of pushing and shoving before a corner is taken is outrageous and the FA need to clamp down on it. You seen Haaland getting mounted by Ragosin and that's not a foul as he was getting bummed before the corner was taken! You shouldn't be allowed to do it full stop.

I was amazed that VAR checked that within a couple of seconds but if that was against us, they'd be poring over it for 5 mins then giving the pen!!
