Spurs (A) Post match Thread

What's up with Mendy?
He was terrible last night and made a host of errors. Is he match fit?

Probably match fit but not fully comfortable as yet. Huge difference between strolling through matches at home, where he is practically a winger, and playing in these games where he has to combine all duties and not switch off. Wouldn't be surprised if the pitch played on his mind as well. That said, when he loses the ball, he cannot afford to stop and ponder why it has happened.

Nice to watch a game on the edge of my seat. Almost fell asleep at the Burnley game. Cant expect to coast through every game. Great result. 7 points from Arsenal, dippers and spuds away. Still top of the league and one of our best players just back. All good from where I am.

I was hugely impressed by Harry Winks when he came on. Our midfield could not get near him.

Moving Silva out of midfield and bringing a clearly rusty De Bruyne on was a mistake for me. Silva does a lot of work in the midfield and is always an outlet for the other midfielders. Gave them a bit of momentum and control that they hadn’t had previously.

For me it was superb for 60 odd mins then Kev came on and he was so rusty, which is to be expected, it gave Spurs a opening. He needed mins but not sure it was the right opposition to get them against

Tough circumstances but one of our best wins under Pep IMO.

A real determined performance and defensively excellent. Kane had one touch and one shot from twenty-five yards.

There was a real resilience to how we defended, Fernandinho in particular was excellent.

All 4 full backs were utter gash. Perhaps the horrific conditions may have had something to do with it?
This is a fair point- the pitch at the sides looked like the touch line. I can’t believe they allow this level to play on that. It’s not like a rugby pitch with few lines, very off putting even for the viewer on TV.

Yes, not Pep’s best subs last night, but that said we got the win. I thought it should have been Jesus on for Serg, so that the pressing could continue from the front, we lost that by bringing Kev on who looked a tad scared of the pitch.

It’s a win 3 points, could’ve been more goals but 1 will do, on to Fulham
