Spurs (A) Post match Thread

Opposite for me. I didn't enjoy watching it and I was glad when it was over. It was so frustrating seeing us unable to play properly, like we were on an ice rink. You just knew that a bobble was going to create a chance for them and I was pretty convinced that we needed a second to be sure. In retrospect I agree totally with your comments - we defended really solidly.

We low down by the corner flag so had a completely false impression of the pitch and probably other things but I did enjoy the game. It's not the kind you want to see often but it is useful for the team to win in those circumstances (not just pitch).

I just never had a doubt that we would win and go back to the top of the league. I'm still wondering if the team are as good as I think they are but something told they would be last night.

Not directed at me I know but I’ll answer anyway.

Yes we did. Overall. Our biggest issue right now is the inability to convert the multiple chances we create. As pep said, we will not get away with that in the later stages of the champions league. A game is always risky at 1 nil.

The chances they had were through our own mistakes and I’ll attribute that to the state of the pitch.

They were big and physical and we stood up to it. In fact almost invited it in the last 25 minutes which surprised me.

We dealt with it though.

Good performance
It was directed at me, but I can't be bothered to respond to people who clearly haven't watched the game.

I feel like this every game now. I expect us to win rather than slip up. It’s amazing the confidence that the team has following last years achievements. We are such a good side currently. Top class. I even think this season could be better than last in terms of success.

I'm expecting now to be a jittery wreck at the Southampton game!

Definitely hearing now in the media that we are better than last year and there are definitely signs of that but I agree with Pep there's scope for improvement; heaven help the rest if we do keep improving.

I think if you are considered as a title contender then you should at least win a cup or 2 if not the title, spurs are bottlers, one day they might have their 2012 moment but i doubt it
I agree, and although Poch is still a highly rated manager, their problem has largely been Levy is tighter than the average submerine hatch. He won't pay the going transfer rates and wages, and now they are screwed by their stadium costing them daily. One by one the players will become disgruntled to a point where they see no future there and i bet even Kane is considering his future as a spud head.

The once mighty Spuds(albeit donkeys years ago) have become small time potatoes, and their supporters begrudge us bigtime. Some of their comments on their forum towards our owners are shockingly bad, and I'm not easily shocked.

When Merlin fluffed that sitter i was convinced it would bit us on the arse and but for that disgrace of a pitch it would have done.
I'm not sure the Lamela miss was caused by the pitch, at first I thought so, but watching the replay's he's also leaning back, which is bad technique, so I think itits a combination of both the pitch and technique, and Ederson my well have saved it had he got it on target.

He missed mate and that’s all that matters.

Can’t blame the pitch for Merlins brain fart though lol.
