Spurs (A) Post Match Thread

Didn't see exactly what Zinchenko did to get his first yellow in the melee after Gundogan's penalty, but no complaints at all about the second. It was as clear a booking as you will see, and Zinchenko himself has apologised for it. It undoubtedly cost us the game.
Can't agree it cost us the game Ric, we were still creating after his departure. For me, the game was lost after missing several good opportunities

I thought it was an incredibly soft second yellow, the Spurs player had decided in advance that if there was any contact he was hitting the deck.

I agree, when the forwards miss half a dozen golden chances it seems unfair to blame Zinchenko.

All ifs, buts and maybes. At the end of the day Zin put himself at risk needlessly by getting involved in that fracas, and then tried a cute shoulder charge whilst not exactly attempting to get the ball.
It does highlight for two of our glaring weaknesses though.
1. We are truely woeful from set pieces and particularly corners.
2. We are soft in midfield and very slow. The amount of times we are counter attacked like that this season is alarming. Whether it’s fern missing from there or the fact gundo and Rodri both seem slow in recovery, it’s definitely a problem. That leads to situations where we have needless decisions to make.

What does Zinchenko bring to the team ? He cant tackle, overlap or defend. Poses no attacking threat.

Amazed. Were we watching the same match? Zin was turning in an impeccable performance until that mistake, which was stupid. That said, it's always very dangerous to try what Mahrez tried, unless you get it absolutely right (which he didn't). Mahrez's poor choice was compounded by Zin's unnecessary one (probably). Until then, Zin's running, tackling, retention of the ball had been beyond reproach.
You want to talk about someone who is bringing nothing to the team at present, and hasn't been for weeks? Raheem Sterling. We can stop right there

Agree with corners, but the high line we play carries risk and reward, Pep knows this but probably feels it is still the best approach for us with the resources we have
