Spurs (A) Post Match Thread

Totally understand the view that we’re dominating and it’s all down to missed chances but the problems are at both ends with our goals conceded to shots ratio. It’s like the old saying about continuing to do the same things you’ve always done and expecting different results. 90% of the time we have enough but in the big games against top teams, where the margins are so fine, we will be found out with these fudged lineups.

Long term it’s a huge summer window. We need a CB of equivalent ability to Laporte. A view needs to be taken on Mendy, personally he just doesn’t seem reliable and it all just adds to the instability in lineups and performances. Same for Jesus. Is he our centre forward for the next 3-5 years? If yes, he needs more game time,if not we’re wasting our time and his.

Short term we have a host of players like Stones, Ota, Gundogan etc who on their day are good players but their appearances are blocking the development of key academy players. The league is done. Top 4 should be ok, bed these youngsters in properly.

Kev is even starting to get dragged down by the rest of this team now, if some big team came in for him I can see his head being turned, could be a hectic summer.

When pass pass pass isn’t working sometimes we need to go direct which means having players who can do that job . When we’re down we have no idea how to change and this needs addressing in the summer

Sterling has not played well for weeks but still gets picked ahead of Jesus. Probably the worst Spurs side for a few seasons, totally outplayed them and like against utd, wasteful in front of goal and made to pay for it. It is so frustrating because we are obviously so much better than the opposition but don't put them away.

But it is a regular problem. A professional football team that cannot score from a penalty no matter who takes it. Add to that the fact that we need 20 attempts to score 1 is worrying. We did exactly the same on Wednesday against a shit Rag team.

Amazing how we are the first team to score 100 goals this season, seeing as this is a regular problem. It has been of late and just think it's a patch we
are going through. We need to get out of it fast.

Thought Pep would've have left Aguero on today and taken Sterling off.

Shearer asking why there are no cameras showing the (non) penalty incident with Sterling and Loris more clearly. Valid question. All the footage are from overhead, why are there no footage showing the close-up action of the incident? Or were they too busy focusing on Moaninho and his antics??

100% fact Loris clipped Sterling, yet not a penalty because Sterling was moving off-target, or because he 'dived'? Commentators saying it is subjective, so that's why Sterling doesn't receive a yellow card for supposed diving? But isn't it a foul because Loris actually tripped Sterling? Arrgh, I have no idea what constitutes a penalty or not anymore..

Why is debruyne not taking penaltys ? Surely it’s not a confidence thing as he is our best dead ball player bar none .
