Spurs (A) - Post-Match Thread

Meh game, credit to Spurs for executing their game plan perfectly.

Concerns-
1. Substitutions too late, Foden should've started over FFS.
2. No more pace? Seriously? Where has it gone?
3.Bernardo is not able to do that David Silva role.
4. Rodri: ineffective defensively

Positives-
1. Ferran reminded me a bit of Sané in the first 20 minutes (hugging the touchline and getting past their RB)
2. We can't get worse than this, can we?

Thoughts-
1. Maybe the best course of action is to target getting into the top 4 as soon as possible and not think about goals scored/conceded (Target clean sheets, get 1-0s and 2-0s until we are back in form) Stop dreaming about the title effective immediately
2. Integrate our youth? If our title chances are skint, why not try our quality youngsters like Braaf, Delap and Palmer?
3. Pep's philosophy will only work with the best.
4. Take our high line maybe a few yards behind, it would've stopped both their goals.

Rodri was not our problem.. he played well particularly in the first half. Our problem is not individual. It’s collective. We need to change the way we play.
i completey agree with you in one sense - but im not just thinking about this game. Rodri is a part of the problem which is our midfield being not dynamic enough.....as is Gundugan, and as ageing Ferna plus Mahrez and Bernardo Silva who are under performing on a regular basis.

But rodri is part of that problem and his lack of mobility, dynamism and slowness of play are contributing factors to this....

Oy! Please respect our istree of being shite. Our DNA was written by it. Be grateful for everything. Question nothing. God save Alan Ball. (Whoops, a bit late there. Now I’m living in the past too.)

Yup, Division Two, York, Piss down back of the leg in the kippax, swales out badge, yadda, yadda, yadda.

What ....Are you for real about Rodri being put on Kane and follow him?

Did you not see rodri trying to race after kane for their 2nd goal, but looked like he was trapped in cement.

Rodri is nowhere near good enough and tonight was another example of why he is nit good enough.
He doesn't have to have a full blown sprint with Kane on every single occasion, Stop the supply of the fucking ball going to Kane in midfield, Cynical foul him if you have to, Just don't let him recieve the ball and get turned to get his head up and pick a pass.
Yet our centre half had to constantly do this and be dragged out of position for Tottenham wide men to run into the space.
It's pretty basic shit that you learn at an early age seems we can't even that properly.

When that goal was ruled out I knew we'd lose 2-0

We were playing quite well too but ultimately coming up short. Pep got it right in his summing up but we are quite easy to play against. I think we're in trouble.

KDB is not going to get fit any time soon. I am not sure he'll ever get back to those magical levels. We need to bin Mahrez and play Foden centrally. KDB has not got the legs in the middle. I think I'd get rid of Rodri too. He's too slow and does not offer the protection we need.

There's only really Jesus, Foden and Torres who are performing at the moment. Bernardo, Mahrez and de Bruyne are way off.

Fuck all creativity once again and pathetic team selection and delayed subs once again.

The sooner Pep is sacked the sooner we can rebuild.

It’s a shame but he’s lost the plot.

He was out thought today.

Didn't anticipate Mourinho parking the bus (which he always does), didn't change it through the match, allowed the above to happen and brought on subs too late.

I think Pep maybe has it too easy at City. There is little pressure from above for him to change things.
Only 10 teams.
