Spurs (A) | Post-Match Thread

Pg is not above criticism , the sun doesn't shine out of his arse like some think.
Why the f-ck he persists to give Mendy & Ake chances god only knows ?
Nearly everyone can see they are shite & should be no where near the 1st team.
Before a ball was kicked pg was getting his excuses ready & sending negative vibes out by saying the team are not ready for the start of the season , whose fault is that ?
I believe we were the last team in the prem to start preseason training .

With Kane in the team today we win that game at a canter. Simple as that.. and our season probably now depends on getting his transfer over the line
Sorry, but I disagree. Torres had zero service. Kane might have been able to create an opportunity to build an attack or two from deep, but who would have been in the box to finish it?

It's simple. Pep took the piss by playing an under strength team against Spurs away, & we got what we deserved. I knew yesterday's result was a distinct possibility from the moment I saw the line-up. Just why???? :-|

We were walking around with the ball which was worrying. You ain’t gonna score moving the ball slowly, the only reassuring thing from that game was a not very fit KDB coming on and changing things, get him on a pitch with Foden and Grealish, it will deffo be worth the watch.

Maybe Jesus wasn't fit enough to start.
If he's fit enough to play as a sub, he's fit enough to start & be substituted once the job is done.

Waiting until we've fucked things up, then bringing him on & chasing the game like headless chickens has failed us in our last three competitive matches, & in each one Pep has played a weakened team, when we had stronger options on the bench. Sorry, but these last three defeats are all on Pep. :-(

At one stage I actually thought the ref had stopped the game for some reason when mendy was walking across the field with the ball while the rest just stood and watched, it was very strange

In the modern game, players very rarely get substituted in the first half except for injury or other exceptional reasons. This applies to all leagues of football all over the world. If you think that that's the wrong thing to do, then you're up against thousands upon thousands of managers and coaching staff who've worked in football leagues across the world for decades.

So assuming Jesus starts the match and doesn't get subbed in the first half, he would be in the second half. That is a minimum playing time of 45 minutes, which is more than the 20 minutes Jesus played yesterday. More playing time when unfit means more chances of injury.

Because many of them have only just come back from a short holiday after playing 70 games last season. It really isn't complicated.

Not sure if it was quite full or not. We sat in the wrong row by mistake. I made schoolboy error of reading 6 as 9, which nearly gave me a panic attack when I came back from getting a couple of bottles of water during the first half. My daughter and I only got into the ground about ten minutes before k/o because we had decided to sit down in a chippy to eat and the bar was so rammed when we got in the ground... When I came back with the drinks, I went to the correct row and then couldn't see my daughter or any empty seats on the row we should have been on.

I did of course realise what had happened but it was a very strange moment or two.

We actually had two spare seats next to us on the row we were on but I think some rows had more people on them that seats so could be sure by sight if there were unsold seats; can't have been many though.

It’s just because people go and stand with mates etc.
