Spurs (A) | Post-Match Thread

Hi as a spurs fan my assessment was that City were good but I just thought Spurs as a team played out of their skins in the 2nd half.
I'm obviously over the moon as for me City are the best team in the league. You can tell just by the fact they're able to bring on De Bruyne and he just changes the game instantly.

I'm sure you already know this but the weakness today for me wasn't the lack of ST rather that left-hand side with Mendy. We got a lot (too much) joy from there.

I also do wonder if this result/match has any effect on your pursuit of Kane.

Great game and good luck for the rest of the season!
I am to depressed for a long repy mate hehe. Fair play though, you deserved that. Not sure it will affect the Kane deal at all but stranger things have happened i suppose. Good luck to you to. Now if you will excuse me i need to rinse my mouth out with engine degreaser :-)

What do all the panickers and flappers want then a new manager hmmm that can beat the top teams?

Cancelo was dreadful aswell whilst we’re at it. Apart from KDB there’s a complete lack of intelligence in the team.

Not even going there with Mendy, quite possibly tops the list of his horrow shows.

this is something that has occurred to me over recent years, most if not all our players are thick as two short planks. When a team is seeing out a game they aid and abet them, they give away dumb free kicks, get involved in off the ball scuffles, try Hollywood corners to no one when we are in the last minute. David Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Yaya, etc all switched on to what’s happening, all thinking two steps ahead. This lot are proper dunderheads. I hate the scousers, I hate Stretford, and those tosses today BUT they are savvy, they know how to work the margins. I fucking despair of our lot. Lots of skill, yep, but switched on, never.

Typical regurgitated nonsensical hypercritical rhetoric about Sterling.
Did you copy and paste that from FantasyIreland?

He scored 31 goals in 19-20. THIRTY ONE. More than any English player since Lee One Pen.
Team of the Tournament at Euro 21.

I can see why you might not have Sterling in your starting 11 but this "he's not played well since 2018" is just absolute boring nonsense.
Fair enough, I was trying to make a point that he wasn't in my starting 11. He was gash last year though and that's not nonsense.

how will Sterling and Grealish fit in first eleven in the long run? Grealish was clearly running into same position as Sterling making Sterling to go more inside but then we pretty much lose the pace of Sterling out wide.

I would hope Grealish plays from left, Sterling from right and Kane centrally because Mahrez for me is not worth keeping as Sterling in bad form still scores more than Mahrez overall imo.

Agree with this. Pep did get it wrong today and never changed the mistakes he made, Leaving substitutes far too late to make an impact.
Walker is a naturally fit player I would of thought he was a certain starter and also never even brought him on.
Mendy and Ake on the same side of the pitch is a no go shouldn't even be contemplated.
At half time it would have been so much easier to bring Walker on for Mendy and Cancelo taking over at left back.
As you say far too late with his 2nd and 3rd subs anyway.

Poor performance. Watching our players walking around and seemingly not interested was galling. Tottenham didn't play that well and didn't need to. I think if Kev started fully fit we would have won that game. I don't know how Mendy still starts for us, probably because nobody wants him and we can't get rid of him. One of our worst ever signings.

Entitled to an opinion but my opinion is they are fucking mad..... Infact what am I on about, let's just go with Torres upfront instead for the season like some of them have suggested.

HAHAHAHAA
They're fucking crazy not mad haha.

Obviously entitled to their opinion tho although a shit 1.

Great opportunity for our hot taking whingers to get in their hits.

Better take your chances. It might not last more than a few months.

Please do let it out if it helps you feel better.

Me? Not interested in over-worrying about a match day 1 result away that has so many variables that tell me this is not even close to valid and reliable data to read much into.

If we perform like this in 2-3 months (less if we don't sign Kane) with who Pep is employing regularly enough, then I'll begin to lean into the idea.
