This, cheap free kick after free kick. Dreadful choices in the final third meaning we don’t even put any real pressure on.
 
PG said we would be on it today and expected a good result . So he needs to have a good look at himself tonight and see why we didn't .I don't like losing 4 competitve games out of last 7. . expected at least a bit of desire in the first 15 mins of the second half but Spurs came out and wanted it more. Kane signing will be great . Need to get him ASAP. But problems still remain. Midfield looked very weak at times. Let's see what happens v Norwich.

Perhaps you didn't notice spurs played without the man we covet amongst all others.
We shouldn't need to smooth anything out. If the players we put out aren't up to it and clearly they're not why are they here at all?
 
That was so poor today. Fast start then nothing. Mendy a liability again. And playing at walking pace. No excuse for that

First 20 minutes, like always, we totally dominated. Then like always we miss three decent chances. After that the opposition gain confidence and grow into the game. Once they score that's it.

Three positions we have needed to fill now for at least two seasons and haven't. Left back, DM and striker. Poor old Fern is having to soldier on at ,36 because Rodri just isn't good enough. Not mobile enough, too slow and prone to mistakes that costs us goals.

Left back we just keep on.putting players there which isn't their position. We need a real one.

Striker, well today tells you everything. We are powder puff up front. Mahrez, Grealish, Sterling, Torres, they are basically wingers and it shows.

Why couldn't some of the English lads play? They're pretty fit to start with, have had a week back and other teams played theirs to great effect. I doubt they could have done any worse than those who did play.

We need one or two proper strikers or we're going to struggle this season. Rags and Chelsea are stronger and Liverpool have their injured players back. Our forwards miss too many chances and people can quote how many we score all they like, I bet we miss more.

we didn’t have a striker last season and we were the best side in the country. Don’t see how you can already know we will struggle based on one game

Disappointing start but not a game to get overly down about given the circumstances.

3 of the back four confirmed they are back up / not good enough. Lots of the team not match fit and that had a huge impact on the performance. As did not taking any of 3 or 4 very good chances.

What we do need to do is dust ourselves off, get a good weeks training in and dismantle Norwich next week.

Thought Grealish gave a good account of himself, definitely gives us a direct and pacy option.
 
Ederson let yet another soft goal in. Mendy is finished, Ake is bang average, Torres, invisible. Z comes in, Stones, or Eric and Jesus. KDB comes in, Bernardo plays and we sign De Jong. It's the lack, of pace that's the problem.
My main concern is thuggery is back and thats not good for the game.

If you are worried how a City side will do starting Mendy Ake Cancelo and Torres then your concerns are correct.


I repeat, we are entertaining the idea of letting go Bernardo, Laporte, Jesus and keeping the 4 above. Unbelievable.
 
What did we learn???

Mendy isn't any fucking better even with 18 months getting fit,
1 way ticket back to fucking France

Ake again to fucking slow & not good enough

Sterling back in a City shirt played very very poor serious thoughts about a new contract

Passing was awfull & let's be honest not a great Spurs team either

Pep knows how to fuck games like this up please tell me why we couldn't go full tilt & take players off?

No chance we can make a start like last year & get away with it just dont see Chelsea & Liverpool losing games like that

Back to the Hundred far better game right now
