Spurs (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Don't like this from Pep. Seriously man stop having a go at us and play better and excite us with better a playing style cause this atm is not great
Some will agree with him.

I like you dont like it.

We have not been playing great recently.

Football is an entertainment game. You play shit the fans are quiet at all grounds. You play well the fans are loud and get behind the team.

Klanfield and Old Toilet are exactly the same atmosphere.

No need to have a Pop at the fans given some of the dross he has churned out for us recently.

Great result, but we need to bin 442 and go back to 433 with Riyad and Grealish playing closer to the penalty box, as long as Pep persists with this system we will have performances like the 1st half.

Rico Lewis has to be first choice RB now, he's a far better player than Walker, I think he could play the wide full back role better atm too, incredible.

Interesting comments from Pep after the game re: passion and desire or the lack of it from players (and fans).

The Matchday thread outed the usual, plus a good few new bumbaclarts.

The lack of mentality in a large percentage of our fan base is shambolic.

Those 2 mad goals aside we were miles the better side in the first half and I was never worried.

Pleasing to see the players reaction in the second half and that desire to win the game and get back in the title race.

Thought Rico Lewis was absolutely outstanding again. Very intelligent and mature performance. Going to be some player.

Need to get the Dias and Stones partnership back for second half of season imo. I’m not comfortable with Akanji / an other.

Well done City. Good to see some positive signs emerging.
Great post though I had to look up the word 'bumbaclart'. Jamaican slang for 'arse cloth' apparently. Who knew?

Pep speaking plainly about how he wants to get the home fans back inside by reigniting the fire and desire in the players and supporters.

He has said he is “of course not happy with the players”.

That was a bombshell of a post-match interview

He laid down the expectations, in no uncertain terms.

He’s right I know will play this control football which is hard to get excited about but more Seconds half’s like that will get the crowd going! As fans though Pep has spoiled us rotten and we moving away from Supporters to expecting..

Those 2 mad goals aside we were miles the better side in the first half and I was never worried.

Really?

We have been miles the better side 7/8 times against Spurs in recent years and still lost. I gave us no hope in hell of coming back but am very glad i was wrong.

Brilliant

I actually thought we were pretty good in the first half and you could see it starting to click, but then a moment of madness put an end to that for the rest of the half

Brilliant in the second half from everybody. Mahrez was excellent. Haaland back on the scoresheet, and we could actually pass the ball for the first time in a few games

Apart from the circus act at the end of the first half. I thought we were actually really good

We need to build on that now because that’s the kind of performance that shows we have the bollocks and ability to go on and blow teams away
I thought so to. Edersons play will gift a goal sometimes, then it was a brain fact. We wasn't 2 down that bad.

Alvarez has to start every big game from now on. I asked for it in the pre match thread, so not a knee jerk reaction, he gives us so much energy, it's infectious.

Now if that means the same formation as tonight or moving to a back 3, I don't really care.

What was Pep trying to achieve with that interview? His players come back from 2 unlucky goals down to win and he says they lack passion. The fans give a little boo at half time when 2 down and they lack passion too. I suppose it is an example of his high standards and expectations.
