Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Remember we beat United at old Trafford and our players were toying with them at the corner flag did that make them snide you need to suck it up the lad scored and celebrated big deal I hope your making more of our players not making any attempt to stop them goals

He was a snide **** before yesterday, he's a snide **** it's not about yesterday. I did state he was a decent player.

Have I mentioned he's a snide **** yet?

Didn't see one City player put a proper tackle in for 85 minutes. At the very least they could've wound up the spurs player who hot early yellow.
No fight in the dog yesterday.
Gundogan, Foden both shithouses in tackles yesterday…..Bernardo and Lewis at least tried to tackle but are very lightweight and just bounce off the opponents and Walker, Gvardiol both very poor when it came to one on ones.

We give the ball away so easily now and haven’t got the players to win it back.

I always said Peps biggest achievement was winning the league last season especially with that set of players who are now all a year older and some a year slower.

Two big blows with Rodri and Bobb being injured but Stones and Ake can never be relied upon to stay fit and it was obvious to all that De Bruyne and Walker should not be regular starters this season and definite complacency and sentiment set in when it came to our transfer dealings.

This definitely feels like Pep’s first season when Toure, Kolerov , Cliche, Zabba had all gone on one season too long…..the problem I feel is that I’m not sure the quality of what is remaining is as good as then.

I’d much rather see some of the younger players being given a chance…..what have we got to lose.

The worrying thing for me is how easily the players heads are dropping and the fight is slowly ebbing away. Are the players still playing for Pep, if so the time to stand up and be counted has to start right now.

I honestly don't know what's happened to the team, it can't all be down to Rodri missing. A huge month coming up ,one where we start putting pressure back on the dippers or we slide out of the top four completely. Wake up please City!

It’ll get worse before it gets better, the summer transfer window was shockingly bad, every man and his dog knew what we needed. That was the start of the problem which became our pre thought nightmare that injured players could have a dramatic effect on us. Yes we’ve got January but it won’t be as effective as we hope, top four would be an excellent season in our current state. If I could bet against city which i never will I’d of made a right few quid in recent weeks and likely would for a few more weeks.
Stick a ton on the dippers next week, might get a slight return

When the midfield is getting destroyed every game, you have to adapt and we haven't. I don't think Nunes is what we need in possession, but there is literally no point fixating on having more possession when it amounts to nothing in an attacking sense & the players are massively detrimental out of possession. However, mixing it could work and Nunes' negatives would be outweighed by us not being so flaccid in transition
I think Pep needs to adapt while we dont have the players...

he needs to sit the midfield and defence 5-10 yds deeper...our fullbacks are too high and rico lewis and GUndo are on the edge of the opponents box when we lose the ball and get ran past in the first 5 yds and never recover....and now we dont have walker's pace or rodri's reading of the game to cover the defence who suddenly find its then a 3 or 4 or 2 in favour of the attackers.
The added advantage to this is to bring the opponents to you which leaves space behind their defence for one of the quickest attackers in world football with players like Gundo, KDB who can play those through balls

With respect, Savinho had an absolute nightmare. I haven’t seen a City player give the ball away as much as he did today for years.
Savinho is a high risk player...at least he was looking to drive at players, take them on and do something.....When you have a player doing that it is naturally going to result in them losing the ball more.....he works hard and his defensive work for a new and young player is very good.....he was getting back to try and help better than our central midfield pair!

Our onfield problems are largely down to a gamble in the last window that has gone spectacularly wrong. Not coughing up the ante for Guimaraes or some other decent CDM and failing to spot Gundo's decline has landed us where we are. Many on here accurately predicted this nightmare if Rodri got crocked and were constantly told he was irreplaceable and nobody could do his job - well with Kova out for a month we've ended up with a huge hole in the team that could easily have been avoided with proper recruitment.

6 EPL titles in the last 7 season and you guys are complaining the players are dog whites and the club is mismanaging and Pep’s time at the club is up? You are worse than the worst Arsenal fans in terms of supporting the team.
I tell you what, if your reply was the only kind on here what would be the point of coming on? We know what we achieved and we respect the efforts of all concerned. But the evidence of our own eyes tell us something has gone badly wrong, which is only partly explained by unfortunate injuries. The second half against Brighton and most of yesterday's game was pre takeover City. Are we not allowed to ask for reason why?
